Ever since the day I purchased the R, the GPS gets majorly confused and will show me no where close to where I’m really at. When I dropped my car off last week for the harness update I asked them to perform the radio/navi service bulletin, which apparently updated the software. Well that didn’t help. GPS is still confused so I emailed Honda and Honda America called me yesterday and recommended the next thing I try is a system reset.

Has anyone tried this with success?

Tried it, no luck. Changed the GPS antenna and complete unit - no luck. :banghead:

I ended up doing the reset and it worked great for about two weeks. Now it’s back to being all sorts of messed up...

Have the same issue, dealer got me an new antenna last week, but it still gets super confused.
Yesterday when I drove home, it could not get a gps fix for 35 mins.

Got the feelin it's the build in compass, with the build in Garmin software, that is the rootcourse. When I look at the compass in the infocluster, it sometimes shows multipledirections real fast.

If the inertia system overrules the gps as per default, and the 2 positions from GPS and inertia does not match within the built in parametres, it could explain the issue.

But it super annoying, especially when my local dealer look at me like an idiot

Is there not a diagnostic that shows the Satellite numbers and strengths. ?
If that is OK, then it must be a faulty GPS system, or interference getting into the system, and it needs to be replaced.

Well, if it is getting a good signal strength and sufficient Satellites, then the Antenna and it's connection (and power) are OK.

So it must be a defective head Unit.

Does you PHONE get a good GPS Position, if you use it in the car with the engine running ??? ( Could possibly be Interference ) ??

Is there a final solution for this problem?

There were many people who got the head unit replaced and GPS antenna replaced and it did not help:

Tried it, no luck. Changed the GPS antenna and complete unit - no luck

At least with my phones, the GPS signal works perfectly well when the engine is running.
