Took me a couple months, but I got around to putting Rain-X on all my windows.

While I was at it, I thought, hey, the water droplets that collect on the rearview camera while driving in the rain make it hard as hell to see anything.... why not dab some Rain-X on the camera lens?

It works! Works really well, actually. Had some rainy days after that (DC set a record for rainfall in July) and never had a problem with water drops distorting the camera's view.

EDIT.... It kinda works. Must have been a fluke earlier. I'll see if I smudged the Rain-X by hand since the last rainy drive. See pics.

If I had planned ahead, I'd have some before-and-after photos of the camera's video...

I've been using Rain-X since 2002, yes I use it on both the CivicX and Murano's cameras. Works.

Great tip. One of those things that makes you wonder "Why didn't I think of that before?"

Is the lenses cover plastic? Because rain x and plastic don’t mix, sometimes it eats plastic but they do have a formula just for plastic.

And if it’s glass I recommend Adams Glass sealant it works twice As good as rain x

I don't know if it's plastic, but it's a possibility.
