2018 Honda Accord

I never test drove the Accord. Went to the dealer knowing I wanted the Civic. Still am happy with the Civic, but I'm curious about the Accord, and would consider it in the future. Anyone out there compare the two? What are your thoughts? Advantages of the Civic are better MPG, handling, turning and parking in tight spaces, better value....I would need to spend 5k more to get comparable features on the Accord...not sure if that's worth it. Also, I like how the touchscreen is built into the dash and not sticking up like the Accord. Don't care about volume knobs, the steering wheel slider works perfect. The Accord fog lights look better in my opinion, and it has LED headlights on all trims.

I drove a leather trimmed Accord without the button select transmission, whichever trim that is....

definitely more refined, definitely a lot more at least here in Canada, nicer interior, I craved the HUD :bow:

it was a lot better than the one in my X5 which is saying something about it.

I decided against it, I have a long inseam and thought the Accord would fit my legs better, but not too much improvement over the Civic. Civic felt smaller and nimbler.

Based on what you've said, I'd guess you'd probably stick with the Civic.

So far the fuel economy is very comparable to my 2L civic sedan. The civic interface is more customizable. I enjoyed my civic but a family of 4 and a dog fit nicer into the accord.

Up front the Accord has the same leg room as the Civic. I'll probably stick with the Civic and save myself $5,000. Although, I've been having an issue with dilution, so I'm not happy right now. Not sure how that will play out. https://www.civicx.com/threads/overfilled-oil-1-5-liter-engine.28896/

Sorry to hear about the dilution issues Hondaman. I have the Touring and have observed slight dilution. Hope your issue gets resolved. But like many here have said, it's unlikely to be an issue unless your 1.5L is an outlier and the level is way over the top of the dipstick. Mine is at the top of the orange bit on the end of the dipstick and I've had no issues so far.

On a sidenote, that road sign recognition feature, I have been told, can only recognize the speed limit signs and convey that information onto the dash. In Canada those signs are black text on a reflective white background. At least this is what the salesperson told me. That was another bummer.

I'm looking at some used previous generation Accord coupe's :nixon:

Maybe I'm overreacting, this is my 1st brand new car. Oil level is high, but I haven't had an actual problem(car stalling, etc.). It sounds like everyone's level reaches the top of the orange piece. If that's normal, Honda should do a recall to replace the dipstick, so that it has a wider margin from minimum to max level. At least it would put my mind at ease.

Hope you find an Accord you like. The 9th generation Accord looked the best IMO, the current looks good too....I like the fastback styling and LED headlights.
