I wish I didn't have the tire pressure light at all. With less than 1500 miles on my 2018 Civic Hatchback Sport, I've had the light come on 3 times. Lowest tire was only 1.5 psi below spec. Readjusted and recalibrated each time.
Today the light was on again, and all tires appeared to be at 35/33 spec. I guess I'll just ignore the light as long as it feels like it is driving fine and not pulling one direction.

When you have low pressure, do you refill with air or nitrogen ?
Our local Cosco will put Nitrogen into your tires for FREE !!
BTW: So should your Dealer !!

All tyres were low when we first got the car from the Dealer. !!! ( No surprise)
We had Cosco fill them to about 4 psi over factory spec, and then the next morning, when they had stabilized in temperature, Bleed them back down to Factory spec.

I'd much prefer to have a true Pressure & Temperature sensor in each tire, like I have recently fitted to my 31 year old Maxima.
There is something re-assuring about getting into the car, and being able to see that all the tires are at the correct pressure (allowing for changes with temperature).

The trouble is, every time you put a pressure gauge on the tire, you loose a little air.
So I may fit the same BlueTooth external sensors that I fitted to the Maxima, (get the wheels re-balanced), and then I can easily check their pressure with the Smartphone.

The Honda system will be fine for detecting a tire going flat when driving, and the Smartphone will give provide long term monitoring.

What I found re-assuring is that the External BlueTooth monitors, gave pressures withing 0.5Psi of my digital Tire pressure gauge, which I have cross referenced with two other gauges, so I am reasonably confident that it is reading accurately - at least in the 29-35 psi range

I use air, at home with my compressor.

Another bonus to our Civic's external TPMS is swapping summer and winter/all season wheels & tires is a breeze. Mine never came on with the over 2000 miles put on the car.

But guess what? You Americans are lucky to get any sort of TMPS at all. Canadian Civics don't have this feature enabled for some odd reason, although we do get a washer fluid low warning light!!
Are you sure? My Canadian 2016 Civic has the light and it did go on when the car was being driven with the spare tire on. It didn't, however, warn me about the tire pressure being low in the flat tire I replaced with the spare. I assumed the low air pressure detection was just poor and won't catch being low, only flat.

Its kind of annoying how my 2008 Acura TL-S which was built 10 years ago had the individual tire monitoring system where it would show the PSI per tire, but on a 2018 Civic they can't seem to fit that in as a feature. My car has been reading "low tire pressure" for about a month now even after me topping up every single one of the tires and resetting it so i'm pretty much convinced theres something wrong with my TPMS.

Yes I am sure. There are no TPMS options in the car settings and it says so in the manual that the TPMS section is for US models only.

Are you sure it wasn't the VSA light that was on?

I'm curious, then, how the TPMS light comes on when a spare tire is mounted?

That doesn't answer any question. I'm not saying you're wrong that TPMS isn't there, I'm asking how the light still works when the spare tire is mounted.
