Hey Guys,

Sorry to hear that you're still having issues with the airbox rubbing, and we completely understand the frustration!

I have adjusted my brackets, and my box cant move anymore right. The coolant hose still contacts the box very harshly. I do not want to cut my coolant hose. Also, if you have offered to replace the box for some people, it wouldnt be right if this wasnt offered to everyone else. I have PMd you to see if I could get a replacement box.
Sorry for the delay getting back to you on that, I'll shoot you a PM in a few minutes!

I want the one that ostudent has. It has optimal clearance at the intercooler hose and the coolant hose. The box does look smaller.
There might be slight manufacturing differences from box to box, but we haven't changed the design or the size of the box at all. We can ship out a replacement airboxes (in your case a second box) but we can't guarantee 100% that it will solve the issue.

I still haven't received mine!! Send me the smaller box..and soon before I decide to cancel my order for the intake and intercooler.....ridiculous

I'll shoot you a PM in a few!

@Mishimoto What do you think of this approach to the issue as a solution to preventing rubbing of hoses?

I'd be happy enough to settle on this if the engineers believe that this would make a viable fix and if you will supply these to those affected, since finding one of these has not been very easy for me.
No a bad idea! I'll definitely make that a suggestion, and keep you guys posted!

A general observation here: when you sign up for aftermarket parts ( no matter how well designed and fitted ) you accept the risk that the fitment *will not* be as good as the OEM, as the aftermarket manufacturer (by definition) does not have control over all aspects of tolerance and fitment.

If you insist on OEM fitment and tolerances, then stick with OEM parts (and accept the design limitations inherent in them).

Call me a masochistic, but I actually enjoy the challenges associated with the integration of (well-designed) high-performance aftermarket parts. The enhanced capabilities easily outweigh the headaches of getting things (OEM and aftermarket) to work together. To me, it's a rite of passage, and what being "a Tuner" is all about.

I salute Mishimoto for their engineering excellence for pushing the envelope on performance with products that are still "consumer-friendly".

Peace out.

Have you read the install instructions for eventuri? It would require coolant hose adjustment too. Just Mishimoto didn't include it in the install instructions at the beginning. This is part of the interesting part of modding your car.

any body tried using an Amsoil Air filter instead of the Oiled filter that comes with the Mishimoto?

Nick,

I haven't received a message from the CS rep about a replacement box.

Just twist your pipe so it doesnt touch. I did it and its fine but i have an aftermarket motor mount so that may be saving my pipe from being cut
