It's been pretty dry here in the Kansas City, MO area, so I haven't had to drive this thing in the rain much...but when I do the car seems to break the tires loose, every time the turbo spools up! I have to feather the gas and drive really smooth to prevent it. Not a good sign for the coming winter. This may be my 1st car that gets a set of "winter" tires, in our reasonably mild winter zone (most years). That being said, we have had exceptions to that rule!

I live about 2 hours away and I don't have any issues with the tires. No fears about the winter to come.
They really are decent, I'll replace them with something better when they need it but I'm not dying to get rid of them. I even compete on them.

Just took 2nd place at Heartland Park - Import Face Off Bracket Races, won the race but broke out to a good friend.
Drove an hour there, rolled right into the lanes, didn't even touch my tire pressures(probably around 34+ psi) and they did great.
Other 10th Gen Si's there with better tires, cai , & same TSP tune ran about my same time......never even did the pedal dance.

Feel confident here in the Flint Hills in wet weather with them too!
I even take them off road quite a bit for some rally action! Love our gravel roads here!
They seem to be taking my beatings well too!

I haven't noticed much issue in the rain with mine. Nonetheless can't wait till I get Pilot Sport 4S tires installed later.

I've got... 700 miles on mine, the rain has been horrendous here in NY the past week or two. No real issues with rain traction or handling on mine even in standing water. I just don't like Goodyear tires though so I'll be replacing them with Continental DWS when they're due.

The Goodyear tires do suck when the road is wet. At nearly every stoplight I’m at, when I take off when the light is green, lots of wheel hopping while accelerating and I’m just trying to drive normally. Those stock kumho tires I had on my 2013 Hyundai Accent se never had that issue and I could launch in the rain with far less issues

Maybe because it's been so dry there was more oil coming up, or maybe it's just me being a little too aggressive on the throttle.
That's possible...and also with little to no rain - fumes, etc., will also settle on the roads and make them quite slick when it does rain. Here in PA, we've had nothing but rain all summer, and I've not had any traction issues at all - and I drive 30 mi ea way to work & back every day.

The Goodyear tires do not perform very wheel when wet. Making sharp turns I can feel the front losing traction, summer no issues at all.

these are not good tires. that said, most of us are still breaking the tires in. i'm going to give them a chance until first freeze. if it's bad then blizzaks all the way..

Plenty of rain here.. Do they slip? yes.. but then again, maybe I (you?) should just slow down ;) . Overall they seem pretty good (6mo/12,000 miles on mine)

I'll probably turn over 5000 miles today, I would think they would be broken in. If the winter is really bad I might mount a set of Blizzaks on a set of 17' rims because of cost difference. We shall see...BTW, being an avid motorcyclist, I check my tire pressures weekly, so they are not spinning because of tire pressure being over/under. I think some of the problem is how early the turbo spools up.

So you have a FWD turbo car and you want your tires to hook up on a wet road.

My old 2009 Civic Si was a pain on wet roads and I had very decent tires. Bridgestone Potenza S-04

Your only solution is to get an AWD car buddy. No tire in the world will make it better. Just go easy on the throttle.

PD: I bet that the all seasons on your forester drive better. Get a set on your car. J/K :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

A few days ago, after coming home in the rain and cursing the traction issues, the wife and I left in her 2017 Subaru Forester, which had no issues what so ever. Almost bought a WRX before deciding on the SI, still think I made the right choice.
