Can anyone recommend something that cleans the deposits on the Chrome tailpipe? I’m getting the black engine deposit or carbon deposit on the chrome tailpipe. I was thinking of using brake cleaner but not sure if that will cause the chrome to come off . Any suggestions? Thanks!

Brake cleaner should NOT damage the chrome. Wire Wool Will, and once the smooth chrome finish is scratched with the wire wool, the black soot will stick even more securely to the rough chrome surface.

The ideal would be to get it clean with solvent (like Brake cleaner), and then correctly Ceramic coat it, (making sure to prepare the surface correctly before applying the ceramic coating).

Thereafter, the Black Soot will have great difficulty adhering to the Ceramic Coating, and what does, will be very easy to remove.

Unlike Ceramic Coating the whole Car's paintwork, just doing a small area like the TailPipe is probably something that you can do yourself, with little prior experience. (Would not recommend you try doing the whole car, unless you really know what you are doing)
