This is funny, but why they cant fix the wheel column issue?
No clue. They couldn’t provide me with an answer. Not sure how the steering wheel column cover could cause the steering wheel to be off center?....

Dragged this inside after getting home from the airport. Gotta find time to do the install.

The update I had done was a service bulletin which only Honda can do. The blue cursor always showed my location being 2 or 3 streets over. I tried it on the way home and it got confused once. Took it through a gridded subdivision and tried to confuse and it worked fine! So I’m hopeful it’s fixed. The update to the GPS you can do yourself is the map update, which they released the new 2019 map last week I believe.

As for the alignment, my steering wheel is off center to the left a little bit. It’s been like that since I bought it. (Bought it used with 1k miles) It never really bothered me, so I just got used to it. I got new tires a few weeks ago and figured I should look into getting alignment. So when I dropped it off for the engine harness update I asked them to do an alignment. I know nothing about that in the warranty section and wasn’t even going to try that card since I got new tires a few weeks ago. Service Dept called me and said their machine didn’t have the type r spec settings but they would be updating it ASAP. They said the tech drove it and inspected the toe and camber and said everything looked good and I didn’t need an alignment. He said something about the steering column, which in my mind translated to the build quality.

I attached a picture of the radio/Navi service bulletin...

Thanks for posting. My car is within the VIN range for this update, and I've definitely had some issues connecting to CarPlay. Sometimes it disconnects by itself in the middle of a drive, but more often it doesn't connect initially and I have to disconnect and reconnect the phone one or more times to get it to work. Too bad I just had it in a few weeks ago for the first oil change.

Thanks for the "GPS" update info - that sounds like a head unit firmware update more than a GPS update, which I'm not surprised that a dealer would have to do. And I do fall into the bracket of affected vehicles (2017), so I'll likely have it done. I thought the GPS was just shitty, but good to hear that is fixed. I'll still likely use Google maps though.

So, my father in law got me a small drive cam for Christmas a couple years ago and I thought to put it on the windshield while my car got worked on. I watched all the videos and heard a few interesting things...

1) In regards to my alignment, The tech Said he thinks the reasoning behind my steering being off center is because the “steering column cover is lopsided”. Then said to the passenger (another tech?) “so there is nothing we can really do?” Couldn’t hear the response but the tech said “this is gonna drive me nuts”.

2) He did get on it a few times (definitely didn’t sound like the higher RPMs) and made the comment “yeah, it’s not quick” and when he pulled into the dealer said “no f*cking way, it has auto rev match???”

3) This cracked me up. The service manager, who is an older gentleman, got in to drive to see about the steering wheel and said “I knew I would hate these f*cking cars!” Im guessing in regards to how low the car is and the seats?
This is funny and sad all at the same time.

Added some black rubber but caps for the shiny rally armor hardware. The exact caps I bought are these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07611LGGB/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They fit albeit a tad long. The cap stretches over the nut fine creating a pretty tight fit. I decided to trip a bit off the bottom so there wouldn't be excess cap hanging off the end of the nut.

Pardon the dirty wheels.

I wish they were more flat in finish but I'm sticking with them for now
