I feel for you having your car stolen. I had a Mercedes C63 stolen in broad daylight. The thieves kicked in the front door of the house and found one of the keys. I never saw the car again.

Seems like this is the end of my CIVICX profile. My Civic SI Coupe was stolen last Friday. Woke up around 8:30am and the car was gone. Police do not find it in any sort database. I live in a good area in Miami, Florida. The only suspicion from the night before was a blacked out Truck that tailed me and drove by slowly when I went inside my house. I have both keys in my bedroom. How in the hell was my Si stolen? Doesn't push-button not turn on if the key isn't near the car???

Friendly reminder that Hondas' are known to be the easiest cars to steal. Atleast that's what the police officer told me.
I think a good way to reduce 'casual' theft is to drive a manual transmission. I have a 6speed manual in my Civic, and none of my friends know how to drive it; I doubt some crack addict would know how either.
But, yeah,..yours probably just got towed away by professionals. I feel your pain! My VW GTI got towed/stolen,..but I actually hated that car (more defects than you could count) and got all my money back from the insurance.

Seems to be a lot of folks are not up to date on current technology. Your key fob signal can be picked up in you/rdriveway/street/ garage by thieves with the right technology.

Also google the tech they are using. If they know what they are doing, then can start your car within minutes and drive away... no towing involved.

Do your own research... I was surprised and alarmed!

The SI has yet to be found. My dad told me that they usually part out the car itself and set the rest on fire. Some of you are saying that it could have been towed. Its a good chance but we have a dog that barks for hearing a itty-bittiest of sounds (mainly a car pulling up, or someone walking on the grass)and wake up when he barks. The noise from any truck would have woken us up. For the people that live in Miami and own SI's.. I live in a somewhat good area of North Miami Beach and a good amount of cars were broken into, including my brother-in-law's Nissan ($100 & iPod stolen). Invest in some type of LoJack system. I knew from the first day that my rims would be a target thanks to the salesmen but never thought they'd take the whole car. People are asking what my next car would be, I'm definetly working a whole lot of overtime to put together $2,000 to buy an old car cash to be able to get to work. It's a huge inconvenience but money isn't a problem for me, haha. Probably gonna save up a good down payment and look into the same car or something around the same car payment; definetely a manual! I've fallen in love with stick. I've been dropping off my wife and using her Kia Forte to get to work. THE PAINNNN haha. Life goes on, guys.

kia forte.. hey man you gotta do what you gotta do. thieves are a bunch of low life bitches who do what they do because of the lax lwas that we have in this dump known as the usa.

you know why there is such low incidences of car thefts, or any type of thefts in middle eastern countries? because when youre caught stealing shit over there you get your hands CUT OFF at the wrist.

you know why car theft is so high here in this dump we call the usa? because when youre caught stealing shit over here you get you get a slap on the wrist.

see the difference? yeah, more severe penalties definitely act as a deterrence.

On some cars you can disable the passive entry system & use the fob the old fashioned way - push a button to unlock the doors. I did this on my other car, but the Civic doesn't have that option. Pushing a button is more convenient than having to use a Faraday cage wallet.

Tesla did an update that now allows the user to disable the passive entry on their cars.

Somewhere I read that the UK has been having a lot of stolen cars & some companies won't insure a passive entry car unless you have a way to secure it. Either disable the system or use something like the "Club".

That's why I got LoJack on mine.
At least something to track it.
Pro thieves know how to deal with it.

Just watch the video I posted on the previous page. Those trucks with stingers grab and tow a car in a few seconds.

At least put a camera on the front of the house so next time we know what happened.
