Idk everyone I talk to on here think the type r is the greatest thing to come out since sliced bread
the kool aid...they have drunk it haha. It is a great car no doubt but it is not without it's fault it overheats on the track and has transmission issues. That is what we know about currently. It's a relatively new design / engine - who knows what will happen in the next couple years. I hope honda made this sucker reliable otherwise i won't buy another one. The s2000 that i had was great ! it did however have small issues - with the tranmission surprisingly - but only on the track after 1-2 laps it would be really hard to shift. Didn't matter what fluid i put in it. only had about 40k miles on her as well. NO car is perfect ! especially a race car for the street that is meant to be a swiss army knife like the type r is designed to be.

Either way this comparison of the rwd 2 door sports coupe (supra) vs a 4 door fwd "hot hatcback" (CTR) is pretty dumb IMHO

Not sure there is much cross shopping here.. other than historical names... Supra. Its a rebagdged BMW. The coupe version vs the BMW convertible version. With BMW engines and their reliability. For BMW/Supra money, I'd rather have a Cayman or used 911. For CTR money, I'd rather have a used Cayman or 911 ;)
haha yup. If this bmw engine in the supra is anything like any previous gen bmw engine then no thanks. Terrrible reliability ! I love the m series car but i will never own one.

Used porsche under warranty ? Sure - yes please. Out of warranty - no thank you. Expensive parts are expensive

Wow, that's like saying a Focus is going to get owned by a ZR1 Vette....

Idk if anyone still has over heating issues. There’s not car made to run at a track right out of the box without a single issue... I will argue that til I am blue in the face... my gtr isn’t brakes will fade but out of a lot of cars I have driven it’s pretty darn good. Never ran type r at a track yet an probably won’t. The car has a junk stock intercooler it’s garbage let’s be honest anyone that knows anything about cars an is an enthusiast can tell u it gets heat soak an bad cuts power to the car u all know take your R out on a hot day it will never hit 23 psi of boost an u guys know it!... the intercooler is garbage straight up plastic end tank junker... an another reason I think they over heat is the water jackets in the headafold yes no header on this car u have a turbo that can reach 1300 degrees roughly bolted right up to the head with your coolant running through it what do u think is going to happen when you 20 psi continuously an your turbo is glowing red hot on the track ummmm over heating coolant... it’s not a perfect car it’s a new car an everyone is crazy about it is it a good car yes. One other thing I wanna see these when they have 60-80k on them an I wanna see the rings in the engine with the direct injection see if Honda got that right I think they did but putting the turbo In the front of the car directly on bolted up to the head with water jackets near there was very dumb when they knew people where going to track this thing... I understand people took the big red Honda emblem off an are saying there ok but what do I know...

Using the word "pwn" unironically
I was about to ask, what year is it? I haven't seen "pwn" used since I was in high school (which was a long time ago) haha

There's pictures of it? I thought it wasn't debuting until the NAIAS in January?
there is a youtube videos shown walk around at the Geneva auto show and all the design features on the test mole are in the "concept" one.
similar to the Type R, the concept one at the Geneva auto show was 95% production. Only difference might be the single lug and 5-lug on the production test mole. And maybe the steering wheel will be less LFA (for lack of better phase). :)

EDIT: Sorry I think the below is Malaysian auto show.

They are really in a different class.

MSRP for the base 4 is rumored to start around $44K; $53K for the base 6, and upwards of $60K when nicely optioned.

Ha! Now that they revealed the new "Supra" at the north american auto show recently... what a joke. Toyota sure made a mess of themselves with this co-development. You'd be a fool to take this new rebodied BMW Supra over a new CTR, under any circumstance.

I'll make a prediction now. The new Supra is a huge flop.

No stick shift and it is pretty much a Z4 mix bag with supra skin.....typical Toyota, they outsource half of the work to bmw just like the FRS. The shifter is straight from the out-going Z4.
