The simplest solution is always a full reset on the head unit, I would try that first before worrying it is something more complicated

I as not even thinking that complicated, I believe the soft reset feature is to simply hold the power button and it eventually brings up a message asking if you want to reboot the system, which I assume since it is android, it does the same thing when you turn your car off as a quick power button press on your phone, its not actually fully off

Hmm, interesting.. I dont know a lot but it would not surprise me, maybe it reset the amp in such a way that only lasts for a short time... you definitely went through all the settings?

Have you tried multiple sources? I would see if you can get something that is loud to start with... im thinking maybe you dont have a problem, I gotta admit, the audio on my touring is really quiet, almost to the point of being annoying

Hey sorry I know this thread is a bit old at this point but I seem to be having the same issue. 2017 EXL 1.5T Coupe
Out of the blue my audio started sounding like crap. I realized sound from the rear was almost non-existant.. fading all the way to the rear I can turn the volume up all the way and hear it but the fronts are much stronger. It's like the amplifier outputs to rear are shot and all thats getting thru is the head unit signal. Did OP or anyone else ever experience this and figure it out?
I thought it might be the settings in my iphone or spotify but nothing I tried worked. I will try the reset thing but after that who knows, hoping this doesn't mean a trip to the dealer who will likely tell me they need to replace the HU$$

I should mention it's happening independent of the source. AM FM, USB cable to my iPhone via carplay etc. - Same problem.

Finally had it looked at a few weeks ago, dealer said its normal lol. They apparently compared it to a new car and it sounded the same" to them". I asked if the tech could sit in the car with me as i demonstrated it to him, was told he's too busy for that!! I tested it in the lot before I left FFS was the same... So i walked in to my sales guy and politely told him to cancel the quote on the sport hatchback i was going to buy in the fall. He was pissed when i explained why. So im looking for a new dealer.

Update on the rear speakers/sub being very low volume..

@ 35k Im just under the wire on warranty so figured its now or never. Been puttig it off hoping the problem would somehow go away:rolleyes: duh but finally bit the bullet and brought it in to the dealer yesterday. Of course I had to explain that yes I first tried adjusting the fader, balance SVC Neural etc controls, did a hard reset all that, blah blah.
Got the call this morning service writer who says come on in, they fixed your problem. How? I asked... What was the problem???? The guy says to me quote - "It needed a speaker adjustment":doh:
and beyond that he doesn't know all the technical issues. Asked if I could speak to the tech who worked on it but says they are not allowd to speak on the phone. Ok I sort of understand that but still. A weak sauce answer like that does not give me comfort. Guess I'll just cross my fingers and see when I pick it up later.

I'll definitely report the results. If it's actually fixed I will try to get more info in person.

It's amazing how many times a Dealer will call you during the day, and Bug you when you are at work, when they are pushing a sale on you, ------- but then once you have purchased the car, how difficult it is to get anyone at the Dealership to talk to you on the phone, or return your calls.
