I have heard its very difficult to do so. This is one reason I have not yet installed my civic RS pillars. I reached out to NeoDragons since he had done the install before. Here is the advice he gave me:
Hello,

its been awhile since I did the install but off the top of my head,

the chrome trim is held on by screws and 3m tape. you can get way with not fully removing the chrome by undoing the screw and using a pry tool to gently move it out of the way of the pillar. if you decide to completely remove the chrome you may have to install a new set since removing it will most likely warp and crease it.

then you have to remove the bottom window trim from the door. that's held on by 2 clips. (that's part 1 & 13 on the bottom photo)

the old pillar garnish is attached with 3m tape. a heat gun will make the removal far easier. it comes off from the bottom and you have to tilt it about 45 degrees to have the clip clear the chrome up top.

installing the new garnish is straight forward. it slides in at the top then position till your satisfied, then you can peel back the tape and press to attach.

the rear garnish is by far the easiest. just remove the panel behind it and undo a screw.

i may left out some details since i did it awhile ago. feel free to msg me if you have any other questions. here a reference i used to see where the screws are

i was able to gently work off the corners of the chrome trim to just get enough clearance to put the pillars on. you just have to remove enough of it. thankfully buy removing the 1 screw that holds it lets you have enough play.

I hope this helps!

Depends on the model you have. If you drive a sedan you can’t get the black gloss trim to replace the chrome. You can wrap them like I did though. There’s lots of room to maneuver the vinyl in and make sure none of it pulls back to reveal the normal trim/pillars.

The Gloss black looks nice on that color.
Good job on the wrap/install!

Reviving an old thread. How hard was wrapping the matte black pillars? I’ve been wanting to do this for a while but have never wrapped anything. How much vinyl would you suggest getting and what supplies?
