I changed my oil as soon as it hit 600 miles. That is the break in mileage from Honda. Think I was a little over 600 miles. Engine today don’t really need broke in they do a little for the rings. Engine breaking is what seats the rings in on a motor like 4000rpm in 2nd or 3rd an don’t use the brakes an let the car stop its self. I ran mine up to 5-6k rpm an let it rev itself down in gear after about 4-500 miles. Free reving an full throttle jack rabbit starts as my daddy use to call them that’s what glazes cylinder walls. But again that’s hard to do on modern engine the metals in the motors are better about the only thing on new cars that are better lol. Cross hitch stays in cylinder walls longer on newer built engines except dodge an Chrysler lmao... but yeah I was always told engine braking is how to break in a motor.... & I have never had an issue my old gsr used maybe quarter of a quart every oil change an she had 140-150k on her
