My 2018 CTR is mechanically bone stock with < 2000 miles on it. It is a garage queen basically.

A/C would just stop working intermittently, and while it did not blow HOT air, it was blowing.... regular air (like regular fan, no A/C). Realized I was having issues when I was sweating like crazy 1.5 hours into a drive where the A/C was on the whole time.

It should be covered under warranty, but I'm having some non-negligible anxiety in regards to them possibly screwing me over on road hazard escape clauses or crap like that.

Supposedly the intercooler is supposed to provide additional protection to the A/C condenser (compared to non-turbo cars).

I know many other 10th gens have had A/C issues. I was wondering if any of you CTR guys have had issues.

Thanks!

That's unfortunate, despite your fears I would take it in to the dealer. 7400 miles here and A/C works fine in my 2018. Not much that can happen in 2k unless you think you hit something.

Its 97 here today and I was amazed how well the AC works. I have the fan on low and recirc and it cools me within a few minutes. I actually had to direct the vents from blowing on me. If everything is working as it should the AC is excellent.

I had to reschedule my appointment so I haven't brought it in yet. However, I noticed that the passenger side vents are always noticeably cooler than the driver's side. I'm not the only one with that problem it seems. It actually feels like normal AC on the passenger side, but regular outside air fan on the driver's side. I am curious to see how the HVAC system is set up in this car that allows this to happen.

However, it seems less likely that there's a refrigerant leak if one side is blowing cold all the time still. (but don't know enough about A/C repair to make an accurate judgement)

probably whatever mixes the temps for the dual climate is busted for the driver's side.

I feel like the A/C isn't very good in my 18 Type-R. It feels like it needs more of a "full blast" mode.

If it's intermittent you probably don't have a refrigerant leak. Typically leaks are all-0r-nothing, but AC systems do lose refrigerant over time no matter how good they are (a 5-10y.o car will always benefit from a recharge). However, intermittent problems could be due to low refrigerant, either from a low initial charge at the factory or from something assembled wrong that led to a slight leak. But a condenser leak would probably have leaked everything out by now.

This sounds more like a bad AC coil to me. I had an intermittent AC issue in my '07 Si, the coil would get hot and stop working. Then it would cool down and work again. It would work on a long trip, or it wouldn't, or it wouldn't work for a short trip or it would. Replaced it, and I was back in business.

But, it could be a bad expansion valve or a mix door rod that came unhooked or a monkey who threw a coconut at a parrot. Who knows. Dark magic. Good news is that whatever it is, it's probably covered.

Well... they said it was a pinched O-ring (from the factory) to the condenser and refrigerant was leaking out slowly. I don't know enough about AC systems to figure out how a slow leak might make one side colder than the other, but stranger things have happened. They also said it took awhile to recharge the system.

Regardless of the cause, the AC has been working okay since they fixed it (took 5 hours) and I didn't have to pay for anything. Thank goodness for that.

I am having the exact same issue. Passenger is blowing cold air while driver side is blowing ambient air

I wonder if they air are blowing from two different vent circuit or piping? (May be the internal valve was broken so driver side vent is not going through the evaporator???)

I agree with lawl that AC leak is less likely to be the case because passenger side vent is blowing COLD air.

I too have trust issues with dealershits so I installed an always on dashcam. I have the Viofo A119 V2. They have a newer version available also. I have a few images of how I wired everything (including Uniden R3) on my instagram. Images depict my old wiring of where I installed my add-a-fuse. Hit me up if you want a better walk through.

As far as your A/C, I just want you to clarify that your "A/C Sync" button is selected and lighting up green? I know you probably have already done this, but just want to cover every angle.

Hey, did you have any problems after this repair? Just noticed the same exact issue on my ‘19. Air is neutral temp on drivers side and cold on passenger side.
