I can tell maverick 1 lol... there definitely not all made in Japan like they use to be haha. I just don’t like how people sit there an build a car up when this thing is worth 30k tops. There’s no awd the roof is thinner than a pop can the thing heat soaks worse than my 87 Buick grand national an pulls boost back like no other turbo car I have had. Honda has always been like that they go 90% an don’t go the extra 10. I Like the motor the interior an the way the car looks an it’s handling an that’s about it it’s not without it’s flaws that’s for sure. I seen his posts he’s on everyones thread an calls me a troll lmao. This car is not what the writers last year made this thing out to be I am starting to wonder how much Honda paid them or if there millennials that just don’t know a good car when they see one. It’s gotta have all the tech the infotainment screen sucks I hear them complain about that but not about anything else. I don’t care if the thing even had a radio if the tranny would work. I bought a car that has a red R that use to mean something at Honda like I can go out an run the shit out of it an it would laugh at me not anymore. Guys better hold onto your s2000’s, teg type r’s, gsr’s an older si’s. We will be driving electric sports cars soon maybe the green earth people will chime in next

I've put over 4000 miles on my car And I've only had it grind one time in 2nd gear. The car was not very warm yet and I might have not put the clutch all the way down. This is coming from a 7yr S2000 driver. :)

The lucky ones? You mean pretty much every other CTR owner who has chimed in?

Nobody has 100% perfection in manufacturing. Nobody. It's unfair to complain and then not allow Honda to take a crack at it. Has it occurred to you that your taste is simply different and maybe you value certain characteristics of the shifter differently than others? You're free to customize, but to call it a "problem" that you've experienced in 100% of 4 Type R's you've driven and then slag the car because of it when a very low percentage of other owners have piped up with the same complaint...I think that's quite unrealistic.

I liked how you casually insult all millenials and insinuate that the entire global auto press including YouTube independents were bought off at the same time because your opinion is different. That's reasonable thinking.

But anyways, I'm sure replacing all the fluids on your brand new car is a step in the right direction. There are some threads in the Issues subforum - try searching for grind. Good luck.

I do like the car but I am also entitled to say what I want about it. I bought it to daily drive an have a little fun with. If I want to call it a turd I can an it is compared to my other cars an it isn’t worth 35k. Honda cheapened out on a lot on this thing like everyone does today I do sound old lol guess i am getting there. Guess you guys don’t mind driving a plastic go kart around in the next ten years cause that’s what your going to get when you sit back an pay 50k for a civic. Honda laughs all the way to the bank an so did the dealers

36 years old, that ain't old, just getting started.
If you check out the thread on the ages of CTR owners you'd be amazed at the age range, many in their 40's, 50's and 60's.
The beauty of the CTR is that it is the do it all car....can track it pretty well out of the box, practical....can carry 4 adults comfortably...lots of rear leg room, can carry tons of stuff in the boot and even more with the rear seats folded down, can put a roof rack on and carry bikes, kayaks and snowboards.
I'm getting one because I'm downsizing and only want one vehicle......to do it all.
By the way, nice Grand National.

Thanks I like my Buick... a lot of people don’t realize without the GN we wouldn’t have what we have today with turbo cars. That car put turbocharged cars on the map not saying we never would have them but the Buick GN put them up there to be reckon with. Bro I like Honda’s I love them but I am a little dissapointed in the car. I am overly picky as I can see with my GN I am an ocd freak. Theres just a little missing with the new CTR in some areas is all I am saying. I am near Pittsburgh free GTR rides GN rides before weather gets bad lol. If your cool maybe i’ll Let u drive the GTR nobody dives GN she’s my baby hahaha. I am a cool dude i’ll Help anyone we need more of that in the world today

I think we all keep forgetting that the CTR is a sporty car based on the economy car roots of a Honda Civic, like the Lancer Evolution was based on the economy car roots of the Mitsubishi Lancer.
Unlike purpose built sports cars like the Porsche 911, Cayman and Boxster, Corvette, Audi R8, Nissan GTR etc which were all designed from the ground up as sports cars, and that makes a big difference, rather than trying to take an economy car and turn it into a sports car.
Since the CTR has its economy car roots, it won't be perfect, but it is a lot of fun to drive and checks a lot of boxes.
Some people have complained about the cheapish interior of the CTR, well let me tell you if you want to see a cheap interior look no further than any Lancer EVO, they had horrible interiors.
