so I bought my Si last June, and the dealer sold me on a 6 year/80k extended bumper to bumper warranty. Since then, I bought a beater to keep the miles off my Si, and now I also work from home. The Si comes out of the garage when I have to go somewhere and it’s nice out. After a year, I have 7300 miles on it, with only 2600 in the past 8 months.
I have it in mind to cancel the Zurich warranty. I paid $1476 for it, and I would receive 85% credited back to my loan.
After much research, I’ve found that most, if not all extended warranties are a waste of money. What is covered rarely breaks, and it doesn’t cover what usually does.
Anyone have any thoughts on this? I’m just curious what other lines of thinking or reasoning there is here. My goal is to pay off the car in 2 1/2-3 years, and I figure that $1100-1200 will get me even closer to paying it off.
