Go for it. You'll notice the dirt comes off quite easily during washes.

Use touch less wash until the warm weather then hand wash yourself. You'll save the car from some unnecessary swirls and not to mention the satisfaction.
I've heard touch less car washes can still damage your car, what does this forum think about that? I have unlimited touch-less car washes from my dealership but am scared to use them after stuff I've read on these forums.

Also, does anybody have a good tint place they recommend in the Mississauga area? I am looking to get mine done next week, still trying to figure out the % though..

I am not familiar at all with the chemistry involved with touchless washing. I would think that any kind of wash is better than no wash. Personally I hand wash whenever possible, just old school that way. Did mine yesterday, inside and out, took just over an hour. Good exercise as well.

I've taken mine through the touchless car wash about 5 or 6 times now. I don't see any scratches or damage to my car.

I think hand washing is better but the weather for that is just now starting to arrive.

As for tint, it may not be "legal" but I did 5% in the back and 20% for front and windshield strip... At first glance it looks like it's the same all around but up close you can see the inside of the car through the front windows but barely anything at all through the back. I hate seeing a major difference between front and back so that why I did it that way.

I got it done at Ziebarts because they charged $250 and it's got a warranty for life as long as I own the car. I also got it rust proofed from them and will be going back soon for a clear bra. Ziebarts is a franchise so just google them and I'm sure there will be a location near you. My tint came out perfect!

Hand wash is the best - if you are able to manage even in our cold weather, or pay ~$20 bucks from a decent detailing shop. I personally can't justify $20 every week or so for a hand wash - it's not a Ferrari :). Next best is touchless IMO, as long as the water pressure is reasonable and not too close to the car. I plan on using the two-bucket method to wash myself in warmer weather.

I am planning on getting tints this spring as well, the guys at DetailPros suggested a professional tinter - I'll try to find his info if you still need it.

I'll probably get it hand-washed later in the summer then, I was hoping I could just get away with touchless once in a while.

I was highly recommended this place called "audio haven" in richmond hill by a co-worker and it seems to have good reviews on google as well, I was thinking of trying this place out for a tint. More info is here: http://audioheaven.ca/?page_id=873 What do you guys think? Last time I called, they quoted me around $275 and it also has a lifetime warranty

The pro detailers I went to this week (The Detail Pros in Brampton) said that cloth auto-washes are the worst since their chemicals and detergents are really harsh, plus the cloths can really scratch your car. He also said that the chemicals in the touchless washes are also really bad for your car and can strip away your wax and told me to avoid them if at all possible. I asked him about coin-op places and he said it can vary. I bought one of those mutli-wash passes for my local Petro Canada Glide Wash which usually does a good job, but now with my new black car I'm going to have to avoid it like the plague - especially since they've disabled the touchless option for some reason that I can't comprehend. I guess I'll have to find someone to sell my card to.

I've been doing kind of a hybrid wash at a coin-op in Milton lately. I'll use their foaming brush to just drop foam on the car then use my wash mitt with only a rinse bucket. Seems to work pretty well. I think I may switch to a full two-bucket method with my own soap and just use the coin-op's water and shaded bay, as long as the car wash isn't too busy, but here's the method I've been using lately (with the coin-op panel instructions in all caps):

Hybrid bucket wash:
1: RINSE: full car plus rinse foaming brush bristles to remove any left-over dirt
2: Fill rinse bucket (with grit guard)
3: FOAMING BRUSH: Add foam to car by just dropping it from the brush (no scrubbing) then brush wheels and mats with brush
4: TURN OFF
5: Wash car with my mitt and rinse mitt in bucket
6: Brush wheels and rims with my wheel brush
7: HIGH PRESSURE RINSE: car and mats
8: Wipe trouble areas with microfiber towel
9: Dry with drying towel

Drive home and park on the street (to avoid staining driveway or getting tire sling)

10: Apply tire dressing

I look forward to the nice weather this weekend so I can just do a proper two-bucket wash in my driveway. :)

That's a decent price with lifetime warranty! Did you get 3M tints or something else?
They told me they use llumar or sungard... I looked into them and they both sound like good stuff and with a lifetime full replacement warranty I'm not worried about bubbling or fading since if that happens, I'll just get it re-done

Some colours aren't available on all trims. I learned this when I originally planned on buying an Aegean blue ex with sensing and found out that the blue was not available on the ex trims with sensing.

Dealer tried to tell me it was because the paint color would interfere with the lane recognition from the camera for sensing but I quickly called bs on his theory bc there was a blue touring (obviously with sensing) sitting right in the showroom 20 feet from us... Regardless, the blue was not available on that trim/sensing combination

It isnt. Such a shame, have no idea why Honda has stopped offering silver on many of the top trims. Best colour imo, easiest to keep clean and looks elegant. White, black and silver should be available on every trim and model.
