There's no reason it shouldn't fit It's literally the same pieces with red accents pretty weird question, only thing that stands out in the type R is the shifter with the type R plate and R mode the front seats and the fact there is no middle seat in the rear I traded in a 17 Si for my Type R interior is pretty much the same just different materials

but if you are going to install a red dashboard , he will also need the CTR steering wheel, a hack when he turns on the radio to say type r upon bootup and finally a badge number

later on he can worry about the engine and transmission after he blows it

The real question is why do you care what he does with the car or if he puts Type R parts on it? I mean if you're gonna volunteer and start making the payments then fine go ahead. I'd rather see the interior get put to use anyway considering its coming from a totaled Type R anyway. It's not like the Type R is special anyway mine is number 17940 and it looks like there's no end in sight for how many they are gonna build anyway

you are right i am putting mine up for sale right now because i see one daily maybe even more than 2 CTR on the road sometimes they are just there with me at red lights. These cars are just everywhere now !!!! Or are they? maybe they are base model hatchbacks with type R wings with red badges i dont know my eye maybe deceiving me .

the dashboard should be the same, don't think honda would have a different size dashboard just for the type-r. i would give it a shot

.... Are you honestly comparing spending a couple hundred dollars for some parts to the 14K+ dollars it would cost to upgrade to a Type R?
Couple hundred? Go do some research on how much a complete dash swap would be and then we can talk. It is not a couple hundred. At the end of the day its money being spent to make a car look like a different car, why not save the money and just get that car you're trying to replicate.

It is a couple hundred lol, they are parting out a 17 CTR on ebay right now....I mean you can check the prices yourself. I already bought the ECU to clone for my CTR.....

As Kevin said above, the needed parts are less than 400 shipped from eBay right now...

A different car? I hate to have to tell you this, but The Type R is still a Civic. It seems some owners have issues accepting this fact.

I personally am not a fan of false badging, etc but we are talking about red vs silver trim here.

If it really is just $400 to swap the entire dash then I am shocked and retract what I said...I was assuming 1k+ from Honda...

also I know the CTR is still a civic....I by no means think I am any better just because I own one I was just simply stating my opinion in regards to the cost of the swap which turns out to be a lot cheaper then I thought.

Its a civic sure but its no regular civic when it comes to the engine, transmission, suspension , and structural integrity.
Its a totally different car , especially with the body panels but nontheless it is a car with a civic badge. Only uneducated people would think someone could replicate any civic to a type r .

People have been doing things like this for longer then most on here were born look at the 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda cars how many V-6 base models have been changed to be Hemi cars? the answer is a lot. I have seen people do this for a long time and really if you make the payments you can do what ever you like life is to short to worry about someone putting different parts on there cars.

Just because people have always done it just means that they're have always been gross people. Not that it's ok.
