Well you don't have to push the climate button to turn the AC on. All you have to do is push the fan on button and turn the climate knob all the way left so it's on low and then push it so the green light turns on. The only time I push the climate button and use the on screen controls is when I want to manually control the fan speed or where it's coming from.
Buy Honda hack and it will push the ok button automatically. Or just don't do anything and it will eventually go away.
As far as the headunit you can buy a dsp or buy an amp with built in dsp like I did and keep the factory headunit. The factory hu really ain't that bad especially after the hondahack. Netflix youtbe internet and whatever other apps you want to install.
Would the steering wheel controls work with that hu?

You can replace the stock AC unit with the one from LX and that will take care of one issue.
I'm more worried about vehicle settings including TPMS calibration that we are supposed to do on the stock HU.

I don't think we have an integrated solution to adjust the factory settings within the HU (keyless entry, HVAC, TPMS, etc). Any reason you might not consider an OEM signal processor?

My Civic Si hasn't even been built yet, so please excuse my ignorance. Would I lose any actual functionality of the climate control other than being able to manipulate changes on the screen? I am totally ok with using knobs and buttons on a dash or whatever if I can put in a Kenwood DNX-995S like in my Jeep Commander. That head unit is awesome. Plus, it plays FLAC files and I have about 130 gigs of those files for tunes and the stock head unit doesn't have the processor for that.

Ah, never mind...cancel that. It appears that my Kenwood will do the climate control....nice. Just have to add the i-datalink maestro and boom. Issue solved (at leaset with my head unit).

Hate to say it, but replacing the headunits in these cars is simply a bad idea. Too much is integrated into the HU like TPMS calibration, the overall vehicle functions, lanewatch, etc. Simply put, even if you can swap headunits, you'll lose an immense amount of the vehicle functionality.

Dang it....the Maestro does not work YET with this year Honda. Looks like I am stuck with this head unit for a little bit. damn. I want to put in a proper unit....sigh. I will just have to wait until they get that all sorted. Maestro will fix this stuff and not lose function hopefully. It works great in my SUV. Zero functionality lost.
