You have to install the Type-r dampening mode before you are allowed to install red trim

You might be better off posting this in the cosmetic forum. The Type R owners are very adamant about keeping their privilege to themselves.

It's more like, "How the fuck would we know?" You think I know anything about a SI?

I don't. Because there is no reason for me to know about a SI and retrofitting parts from my car onto a SI.

Some of us are...

Still, I don't think we have any answers for you @OP - I don't think anyone knows for certain. It would take research, and honestly if you're serious about doing it, you should probably be the one to do it. Just looking at it, the facade is almost exactly the same, so I can do an off the hip shot and say: Sure, why not.

Its nice to see a CTR owner being helpful and not accusing people of faking a Type R.

Where did someone accuse someone of "faking a Type R"? Like I said earlier, how are we supposed to know if this retrofits? We're not the ones retrofitting shit on to SIs. OP should try and then he can let everyone else know.

I see you post the same shit over and over. You've got a chip on your shoulder about adding cosmetic shit to cars. We get it.

I, uh, don't think Donuyen18 was replying in reference to your comment. If so, then likely they mis-interpreted what you said. However it was CWCTR2018's comment that likely spurred it, which kinda does fall in line with "faking a Type R". Also the8rotor just above your comment.

Any ways everyone is entitled to their opinion, and theirs isn't necessarily wrong since I can see from their point of view even if it's not one I share. Personally I'm somewhat neutral on people getting parts meant for a Type R on the other similar models, only because it doesn't directly affect me in any way other than parts availability once the 10th gen CTR gets updated and they stop making those parts, which will be a while. I can see why people would like updating the cosmetics on their car to make it "theirs". So... :dunno: If you have the money and/or time, make it happen.

That being said, @Knucl3head74 I'll reiterate that you'll likely need to visit a body shop who can read the Honda parts list well, or have some experience doing it yourself. Also realize that there's possibly cheaper ways to accomplish what you want, even professionally. Good luck.

The dashes look identical to me...I don't see why they wouldn't be interchangeable.

I never understood these kinds of questions, the money you will spend doing the swap you could put down towards the type r and do a complete upgrade :dunno: not trying to sound like an ass either.

People live different lives and face different situations. A lot of salty Type-R owners on here hating on "Fake R's" trying to imitate us, but really....what they do to their car won't affect your personal life in anyway. I don't get the hate. It's their money. It's their car. Let them do what they want.

.... Are you honestly comparing spending a couple hundred dollars for some parts to the 14K+ dollars it would cost to upgrade to a Type R?

Is there any difference other than the red trim? Hasn't somebody put up a thread where they painted of wrapped their Non-R in red?

People like kit cars too. They're free to do what they want. I'm free to laugh even if I don't own the Shelby GT or Lambo they're trying to imitate.

Show me all the salty Type R owners defending Type R'dom in this thread. There is like 1 person doing that. And yet you and a couple of other people are quick to stereotype Type R owners as salty snobs. Automatic assumption on the rest of this forum that Type R owners will be up in arms about this petty shit. Whatever man.
