Since our turbocharger retains all the OEM heatshields we have not had a need for a turbo blanket. Not saying we couldn't benefit from it, just have not needed it yet.

In your blogs you mentioned pushing past 29psi when map sensors become available that can go reliably past that however it's been my understanding that the stock recirc valve is limited to around 30psi as well. Does your kit come with a new recirc valve and if it doesn't do you have plans to release one in the future or is there someone out there that's already released one you would recommend because I also imagine it's not hard to find a universal 5 bar map and making it work but defeats the purpose if the valve not gonna hold the boost.

Can't remember where I saw it. I do know the factory map is 3.2 bar which equals out to the 30 psi, you slap a 5 bar in there and they can do accurately 65psi. That covers the map. I figure you're referring to the recirc valve. The Si comes from the factory claiming it get hit 20psi on the boost, I never hit that stock, hit 18, maybe push a 19 long enough to not even see it, but a 30 psi limit seems realistic for factory. The whole idea is to get the car down the assembly line as cheap as possible, not gonna get some top notch shit from the factory designed to handle way more boost than the car produces

Plenty of people running 25+. Figured you were aware of people with failures. Since the stock turbo is a TD025....pretty sure 30psi is hairdryer efficiency



I believe the person above is running an upgraded turbo. Not sure about BPV

"Even still, given turbo lag"??? What are you talking about? The turbo is tiny. The boost ramp is artificially delayed.

But to be clear here. 30psi is not a known limit for the stock bpv.

Some might assume I am being a db but i have seen multiple car forums full of people advocating to replace the stock valve under the pretense of "it wont last", "it has limits", "it was never intended", "it can't handle", etc. Until it fails and is documented, we do not know.

Arguing to replace a part because it might fail without evidence is a slippery slope. Left unchecked it will allow the aftermarket to flood us with useless crap. They should instead be targetting items which truly need upgrading.

The takedown of Booba by Vit was excellent and should not be forgotten.

Great questions. Our turbocharger upgrade does not include a new BPV. We do not have any plans at this time to release an upgraded BPV. We have not yet had any issues with the OEM BPV holding any of the pressure we have commanded. I am sure if we hit the point where that becomes limiting that we will certainly look into it. We do have access to universal MAP sensors and with time will eventually continue to push and see what happens.

What is the highest boost pressure which has been run with the 27Won turbo so far? Also has any testing been done on a stock Si with only the turbo swap(stock intake/dp/fp/cat)? If so, what was the resulting hp/tq? While I know that wouldn't be optimal it could make for a mean sleeper.
I would have to look at data to confirm for sure but right around 31 if my memory serves me correct. Not sure we can go much higher than that without losing efficiency. The sweet spot from what we have been seeing from others is in the 24-29ish range it seems.

We personally have not done any testing on an otherwise stock SI but I can assume you would still see gains of around 40whp assuming nothing else.

The fact that our unit retains all the OEM heatshield certainly makes it for a mean sleeper.

Hey guys,

So it's been a while since this thread was updated and lots more turbochargers and dyno results have come out from all our happy customers. I wanted to use the next few posts to share some of the graphs and info from other W1 equipped cars. This way a more rolling average can be shared and people can see the great results that are possible with this easy bolt on. The delta in these graphs is amazing and shows just how much you can get with the turbo swap alone.

This is a FBO car with stock exhaust and an E45 blend. You can see with the W1 upgrade and some E that he net over 85whp and 53 tq
