so as I understand stock speakers are 2ohm and most of the aftermarket speakers are 4ohm... is there a huge difference in sound? I know that if you double ohm sound becomes twice quieter (i.e. if at 17 volume with stock speakers your usual daily volume, with 4ohm you have to have it at around 25).... should I just replace with 4ohm and just forget about them or better to find 2 ohm replacement ?

Are you sure they are 2 ohm? I would think they would be either 4 or 8 ohm.

idk man, im getting different answers everywhere... someone said 2ohm, you said 4ohm, someone else comes up with 2.5.... I just asked crutchfield "expert" he said 3.6ohm... so I just decided to order 4ohm speakers

IMO ; Speaker load could be 2 ohms when using two 4 ohms speaker. I never see or heard about 2 ohms speakers

my 2018 nissan uses 2ohm speakers, it is written on them, but in case of honda they don't really do it

yeah, I figured civic uses 3.6 ohm (I used multimeter) so 4ohm....

In case of my nissan, I will go with 4Ohm as well, since 2ohm speaker are stupidly expensive or from companies I never heard about...

We should use the recommended speaker impedance , if not we can damage amplifier

I don't have an amplifier, even if I had and if stock speakers were 2ohm with 4ohm I won't damage that, you basically cutting off given power by half...your amplifier actually will run cooler :D
If your amplifier is rated for two ohm speakers it should handle the four ohm speakers.
Problem comes when you try to use 2ohm speakers with an amplifier that was designed only to power 4ohm speakers, in that case you trying to tell your amplifier to double the power it gives, which it doesn't have, and push your speakers, in that case amp runs hot and high risk of damaging it

LX models in the USA don't come with an amplifier or more than 4 speakers, no tweeters.

You also need to consider that in many cars with more than 4 speakers, manufacturer might use different specs, i.e. subwoofer might run 2ohm (for more power) while speakers are 4ohm ... you dont want to install speakers with 2ohm in that case to match your subwoofer.. you will fry something for sure

To drive any speaker you need a amplifier. Honda Infotainment / radio are built with a amplifier, tuner...name it :)

definitely, built in amps are not that strong and not that picky.. I'm running 3 ohm front speakers and 4 rear..no issues... tried 2ohm.. way louder but didn't feel or hear or smell anything frying after 30 minutes of non stop loud music .... plus stock system tuned to 3.6 ohms (according to clutchfield)

If impedance is not right you will not hear or smell anything in most case . System may not last many years or less.

meh, LX head unit not worth keeping anyway, pathetic 5 inch screen is just terrible... will be a good reason to get an external amp and new head unit :) besides, won't be keeping it forever :D
