Not sure if this is a broadcasting thing,or a radio issue, if its the radio,no biggie as we are getting rid of the car, but the serius subscription ran out,so we turned on regular fm radio.
All the sudden, its been all static, and the info doesn't pop up half the time anymore. When I select the menu, it had HD Radio blacked out.
It never sounded like that before as the static drives me nuts and I would remember.
Husband said a tech told him that analog radio can have in between reception and that's what causes all that noise, but digital is either there or not.

If you're getting static-free FM on another car, you have a problem with your Civic.

You're in Newark, so you should be getting the NY stations with zero static. And besides, FM really doesn't have static - AM does, but not FM.

I have a hunch your car has a defect.

Yea,we used to get all the Philly stations in HD ALL THE TIME,now we are lucky if the HD pops in for a second or two.
Well, the car has at least one major defect, its a lemon so we are getting a new one anyway, but husband said Honda told him that its the way radio stations broadcast. We just thought it was odd that it doesn't come in at all anymore.

It's your car - I get the Philly HD stations perfectly, and I'm way out in Chester County. The only one I don't get is WXPN, but their power isn't that great.
