Yesterday at the Laguna Hills Honda dealership in Southern California, I talked business with a salesmen. I'm going to get a 2018 Civic Si in the next few short weeks. My current lease (2015 EX sedan) expires September 1st.
Anyway, we went out to the lot, which was a toasty 98+ degrees. Off in the distance the Holy Fire was raging on the mountains, creating a rather ominous scene. We got inside a 2018 Si, black, and I started it up to prepare for a test drive. But, when I reached over and grabbed the stick shift it was so incredibly hot that a test drive was impossible. For real. That sucker must've been 200+ degrees. It definitely would've burned and irritated skin if you were to grip longer than a few micro seconds.
I read about cold weather, and how it affects the shifter. But hot-damn, that was not what I was expecting. Keep out of exposed sunshine, just like Mogwai's, was yesterday's lesson.
