@Hondata can you make an 8psi tune? I have a cvt and was thinking about raising the boost to 8psi from 6psi. Don't feel confident enough to play around with the numbers myself. I have a cvt. I know it will be at my own risk if it happens to damage anything in my car. Also I only do wot at speed and never at a stop. Thank you!

bump up your TQ limit then add 2psi or .2 bars to the boost map

hit Ctrl+J then add .2 value to the selected area in the pictures. it should match the picture

275 should be enough if not bump it up to 300

Adding .2 bar to the boost map would add closer to a 3 psi bump wouldn't it?

It's 2.5ish .

If he wants extactly 2psi,he can do the math himself . .2 is close enough

Quick question for dc2turbo...

In another thread I asked about bumping up boost at lower rpm and you recommended I shouldn't for a margin of safety.

Yet in this thread you are showing some pretty substantial boost at low rpm. I'm a bit confused I guess on this. What's the best strategy?

if you notice i never touched the tq limit at the lower rpm
you will also never be at the rpm with the cvt to hit full boost unless you have paddle shifters at a high "gear"

But that's what I was asking. If I only bump the boost a bit at 2000-3000 rpm and don't touch tq, would I notice any difference in acceleration in that rpm range?

no... you will never be in those rpm if you are trying to accelerate. the cvt will just jump to 3000 rpm and up

This is an interesting thread, so just to make sure I'm understanding this correctly; these changes will result in (what would technically be) a +8psi tune for the CVT? I'm assuming this will work for the CARB flashpro as well? I'm going to be trying this this evening. I've been running the +6psi for 2-3 months now.

@dc2turbo , you wrote "it's 2.5ish", why not just make the configuration for a total of +9? Or is that slight difference that much more risky?

why not do ethanol if you want more power?

any time you adding more power, it's a risk. if you want to do a +9 then go to the +9 calibration from the 6mt. copy all the boost tables to your cvt calibration.

technically 2.5 is still 2psi. it has a 2 right? :)

Is it really that simple even when using the CARB flashpro? I can just load up the numbers for the +9 for the MT and copy/paste the boost table values? "any time you adding more power, it's a risk" - I want the CVT to last for at least 4 years.. after that I'd replace it/get a rebuild if I had to. To my understanding from what I read, you just want to make sure you don't put much boost under 3000rpm as that will help prevent CVT slipping, which is reflected in the boost table you posted. I know Hondata is conservative with that 250 torque "limit" for safety.

@dc2turbo , I'm curious what your opinion on this is as you seem to know a decent bit. Do you think that pushing 270-290 torque on the CVT is "relatively" safe as long as it's done at higher RPMs?

I run my own tune based on the +6. The base +6 honestly is something like a 19.5 peak psi tune. My tune peaks at about 21.5 psi. I upped the torque from 4000rpm and up from 250nm to 272nm. On 93 octane this tune runs well and has a bit more power than the base +6.

I was just hoping I could improve low end performance a bit because IMO without driveability tweaks like KTuner has, the base Hondata maps pretty much feel similar to stock at low rpm.
