I had it in for service, and the Service Advisor decided to take the car on the freeway and redlined it from 1st to 2nd to 3rd, causing the whole car to shake violently. Car only had 1500 miles on it too. Caught it on a dashcam and went to the Service Manager about it.
I typically wouldn't pull the trigger on an extended warranty, but I have in the past on first year cars. I thought about it when I bought this one and purchased it. Glad I did. Already had 2k worth of wheels and tires covered. I know you guys are referring to a mechanical warranty, but I'm including the wheel coverage as part of the whole package. With a first year car there's a LOT of kinks to be worked out, even Honda. Just take a look at the " Repairs, Issues" thread. I just have a good feeling I'll be needing it down the road.
I don't remember the wheels/tires being discussed with me. They may have though. I just may not remember. I'd have bought it though if I knew about it.

Is that part of Honda Care or what kind of plan should I look for to cover wheels/tires? Roads where I live have murdered my chevy.

Mine wasn't HondaCare. It was through another company my dealer uses. There's a bunch of people on here that have the wheel and tire coverage.

What is your policy max? The one I am looking into currently has a $2500 lifetime max policy payout....

$5k on tires/rims.....NO limit on everything else up to 8 years
Everything else? Is this a full extended warranty like Honda Care?

I am looking at buying Honda Care and a wheel package. What is the name of your warranty and where can I purchase? Also what kind of cost am I looking at?

You can buy extended warranty before the original expires. Why spend this money up front?

After 6000 miles you can only buy coverage length up to 6 years 120k. Buy before before 6k miles and you can get coverage up to 8 yrs/120k.

Consumer Reports almost always recommends against getting any kind of extended warranty, and like a previous poster said, take the money you would have spent on the warranty and put it aside for your own self-insurance.

Extended warranties are a money-maker for them, and thus a money -loser for you. Everyone will hear about the guy who came out ahead because of one expensive repair, but that is the exception, not the norm.
On a Honda, I agree. I don't see the point in getting an extended warranty. However, on the BMW 135i I used to own, it turned out to be a fantastic idea. It cost me 3k for the warranty and I ended up getting about 15K worth of repairs done under it. I'll spare you all my "dont ever buy a BMW speech."

All it takes is a blown turbo to ruin someone's day. Plus all those oil leaks that people are discovering, i think it'll still be a problem 50k miles from now ;)

My concern is Honda Care won't cover some of the leaks. They are vague on what they do and don't cover... hmmm
