I use designengineering.com for their heat reflective tape, header wrap, and universal fit heat shields.

@GrahamRahalPerformance has new downpipe blanket:
Damn, that's awesome! I wonder how much better it is in than a wrap. Though I've heard mixed things about wraps as they apparently can insulate unevenly due to its overlapping nature. Do you know if they plan to come out with for a 1.5T downpipe?

Also, has anyone installed a turbo blanket on a 1.5T? All I can find are Type-R installs, which look like a pain in the ass. Wonder if they're worth it.

you have to wrap the dp properly with appropriate overlap.

don't believe they will do a 1.5T blanket.

my grp dp is currently lava wrapped and will be swapping it out for the new grp blanket soon.

Does it bother you, when you just washed the car, begin to drive & SUDDENLY some drops came out from the hood area on the windshield? Am I the only OCD person complaining about this? Guess what, I think we all can benefit from this mess actually...

Waiting "patiently" for some other supporting mods for the car, such as the Intercooler from you know who: Mishi' I began to think about HEAT DISIPATION people on the CTR. I went and copied the idea of mod I originally had on my old GTI: A lower trim insert gasket.

This basically opens up the area between the Hood & the firewall, allowing cooling air into the rear of the engine compartment when rolling, and out when sitting. Tests showed (from the original seller of this mod) that the engine bay temps are reduced up to 18 degrees. This will help prolong the life of any wiring harnesses, Vac hoses as well. You’ll might notice a slight increase in noise as the original serves largely to dampen/reduce sound. On this later I kinda deaf, I have barely heard louder, but just in case you hear more than me.

On the pic you have, from left to right : stock trim, a lower trim version & the skinniest I sourced.

The lower trim can be sourced on any hardware store, such as Home Depot or similar, IF you want to go in a more aggressive way, just remove the lower trim, this actually will allow even more air to travel out.

Hope this helps!

Might try removing this all together at the next hot track day and see if it works.

Are we talking about this entire piece circled in red here?

I'm thinking that this could be a good way to get heat out the bay, especially with one of those aftermarket front honeycomb grills that open up a bunch of airflow.

While I think this could help IATs, I'm not sure how it'll affect what appears to be the bigger issue to overheating on track, which seems to be the lack of airflow getting to the radiator. Apparently the radiator is large enough to handle cooling duties, but needs more airflow.

Regardless, removing this weathers strip/hood seal looks to be worth a shot!

Yup.

Are we talking about this entire piece circled in red here? Yes!

I'm thinking that this could be a good way to get heat out the bay, especially with one of those aftermarket front honeycomb grills that open up a bunch of airflow. Yes too, that's the heat dissipation I'm talking about.

While I think this could help IATs, I'm not sure how it'll affect what appears to be the bigger issue to overheating on track, which seems to be the lack of airflow getting to the radiator. Apparently the radiator is large enough to handle cooling duties, but needs more airflow. I'm considering do some ducting mods to get air to the radiator, it is on the works - I will update ASAP!

Regardless, removing this weathers strip/hood seal looks to be worth a shot!

So whats the best Oil Cooler for the FK8 R? looking to buy one
right now it's looking like united speed racing which has shown a prototype and is in final testing before production. it requires zero cutting modification to the fender liner etc and has the largest radiator so far to cool the oil. hks requires modification and cutting of the liner and has a smaller radiator.

waiting for more info to come from usr.
