My a/c fan seems to surge, it's very odd. Still gets cold when I set it all the way to Lo
My car had cold air coming out too.

How I figured their was problem, mine made a high pitch noise(kind of noise you can hear when the drive belt slipped) only when I turned my A/C on.

You should go to dealership to check it out before your bumper to bumper warranty expired.

Today, I also got my whole A/C clutch kit replaced for my 2017 civic.

My car was making a high pitch noise (I know when you turn your A/C on, it makes a noise but it was not the compressor noise) when I turned on my A/C.

They replaced bunch of stuff worth over $2,600 CAD.

Of course, everything was under warranty.

I waited a month to replace it due to their "special 10th gen civic only A/C gas" delivery delayed.

So, people ! go to dealership and book for a/c unit replacement or at least get an inspection.
Good for you! I'm happy you saved over $2600. I don't think people realize that they should have it looked at while under warranty over when it's off warranty and they will have to pay for it out of pocket

Thanks!

Yeah, I know. right?

Did you also replace your a/c unit as well?

My civic had so much problem in a year now.

I had to replace whole driver side door due to leaking at the door latch and rust.

Good thing I bought extended warranty because there are so many problems with this 10th gen civic.

Just the condenser, I think that alone is a $800+ part then labour. Now my civic blows colder than ever before for free. I was skeptical before when seeing people complain about the a/c not working, but I'm glad it happened while still under warranty for me. Better late than later!

I see. They replaced my a/c clutch kit, compressor, a/c field coil, discharge hose, suction hose and condensor.

Basically everything.

Mine was also making a rattling noise when accelerate but not anymore.

Even it is quiter now when turn on the fan at the maximum speed. It was like tornado before.

My AC has been mulfunctioning since I bought the car in 2016. I took in twice now, this year when I fired it up for the first time, it blew hot air like from a hair drier. Took it in again and they said it was low on gas and that they put in a die this time.

That was 2 months ago, and the A/C is dead. Hot air on driver's side and cool-ish on passenger's side, so low gas flowing into the evaporator. I took out my UV light and noticed 3 little black spots on the condenser, right where those big beautiful vents all the way down in the bumper are.

Was yours like that too? Did your dealership cover that under warranty?

You better go to another dealership to check it out. My dealership diagnose the problem and changed everything without questioning. If you havent had any car accidents, it must be under warranty. Mine was under warranty of course.

Mine had decent cold air however whenever I turned on A/C, I heard weird squeaking noise. So I went to dealership to check it out and figured out my ac clutch gap was big and ac gas was leaking. So they changed ac clutch kit, condensor, discharge hose, etc.

mine had squeaking noise when the air blew cold. Now no more squeaking noise, but I hear a sound of like a gas or liquid flowing through the pipes.....

Oh, i don’t have issue with blowing cold air but i can hear that belt slipped noise...
i guess the issue will come sooner than later.
Is it coming from the air going out of the leak?
Thank you for the input

Also, my squeaking noise was never constant. Now it's totally gone with the refrigerant being low, and the compressor is spinning all the time without a noise. Before most of the refrigerant leaked out, the squaking noise would come and go, didn't matter what RPM the engine was at.

So what is the bottom line guys? I read all the threads on this forum and cant understand what to do hh. I just bought the car and I think i have this issue too. Sport hatch 2018. Should I go to the dealer service and tell him to replace -name of part- or until now no one really know what is it?

I just went in and mentioned my air conditioning used to work but now it doesn't. Allow them to diagnose and do their job rather than you demanding them to replace said part
