I have a scratch pretty deep. not sure how I got it. just once day i was looking at my back tire and saw it. i bought the touch up paint, used it, haven't applied the top coat yet. not sure how to make the touch up paint even out with the old paint. do i really need to buff it or buy the blob remover? is there another way? thanks in advance.

first 2 pix are from before touch up, and last 2 are from after touch up paint applied.

In the first pic You can barely see it. You can try to buff it by hand to even the blobs out a bit. The best way to even it is to wet sand 2000 grit then use polishing compound to bring the shine back but I don’t recommend doing that if you’re not comfortable

I think you're the only one that will ever notice it. Looks good unless you get up close, on your knees.

thank you for the responses. at first i was just worry about the scratch area getting rusted over time. The more i research and read about how to do a touch up paint the more stuff/details i see people do. i got into it more, but i don't have any of those tools hah. i think now I will just leave it as it is after the top coat is applied : )

The bumper is plastic so you don't have to worry about rust. But you could try to use a polishing compound and try to buff/even it out. It may help. But like everyone said unless you are looking for it most people will not see it.

Too late, but I used to use the Langka system on my BMW and it worked quite nicely

Looks better than nothing for sure. As others have said you can still work on it to make it blend in better if you think it's worth the effort.

I went through the correct touch up process (touch up/clear, wet sand, leveling fluid, polish) on a door and it turned out good. I tried it on the same spot on the bumper and burned through the clear almost immediately, i was shocked at how thing the paint was on the plastic components. I say try colorchip or learn to live with it unfortunately.

Honestly it looks pretty good. Nobody else is going to be looking that close.

Looks like you did a good job, but that's only the first step: after a bit of polishing (by hand with a very delicate product) will be much better. Unfortunately white shows the touch up much more than darker colors so it will never be perfect.

Best choice is to get touch up paint from Dr. Colorchip. They have a two step process to remove any excess paint.
