What is your average cost for full coverage on a Type R? Currently, with GEICO on my EX with uninsured motorist coverage (lol, Texas), it's running $592/6mo, so about $100/mo. I'm 36, with zero accidents or tickets in more than 10 years, and I've only put 6000mi on my car in the last year.

My trade in is looking to result in adding another year of payments, but at pretty much the same monthly payment. Geicos quote system doesn't even list the Type R as an option, and I don't have a VIN yet. If insurance isn't insanely different, I have no reason not to move forward.

Only issue is its blue, albeit my favorite color, but I love my black car. Willing to make that sacrifice, lol.

Hey, most insurance places will give you a quote on a vehicle I'm pretty sure geico will.

I actually got a quote from USAA and I'm looking at 154 a month as a 27 year old in NJ which is known to have the highest insurance in the country for males 18 to 27...

I'm trading up from a 17 Si sedan to a Type R at the end of this month though just waiting on the car to get to the dealership.

Looking at some other posts looks like I'm getting a decent deal for my age and state.

From all the places I got quotes from a CTR cost the same to insure as a base model.

Just curious what this means?
Does it mean you plan on cancelling the collision and comprehensive parts of your insurance?

Exactly. Liability only covers the other car of you're at fault. Collision and comprehensive cover your car if you're at fault.

They originally had me listed as low mileage which would run about 600-ish every 6 months. I couldnā€™t do low miles, so it jumped straight up to 900-ish every 6 months. Iā€™m 26 and have had both accidents and tickets in the past (though clean for the past couple years).

My 6 month premium for my CTR is $262 for full coverage with Geico. Had USAA for almost 20 years but dumped them because they were charging way more for less coverage.

I'm 19 & currently pay $339/Month through GEICO on my Type R.

I was originally shopping around & wasn't quoted anything lower than $750/month until i came across GEICO.

Guess being 19 years old with only a bit over a year of driving experience doesn't mix well with a racecar - Who knew?

Holy shit that is high and you are in NC as well. Good grief that is a car payment on like a 20K car. haha Damn I would shop around every time it is up for renewal. I drove a Mustang back when I was your age and I don't remember it being that bad. It was bad, but not that bad.
