Hello All,
I'm curious if anyone has any experience with King Motorsports tunes. I emailed them, and they have a tune that gives roughly 225whp and 245wtq for $350. I'm sure this is old news, but I just got my Civic. My only concern is if I have to flash back to stock for warranty work. They said they will flash back to stock for no charge. Does anybody have their tune? What is your opinion of the tune and the shop? I know they are well known in the Honda world, but I'm looking for first hand experience.

Way too much money for an off the shelf tune. You can get a good custom tune for that much, or less. It looks like that fee includes a Hondata license too though so that changes things a bit. In my opinion you are better off with your own programing device and not having to depend on a shop to do your flashes.

Hi.

King Motorsports Unlimited in New Berlin WI is an excellent place to get tuned. I've been dealing with them quite regularly since 2009 on several cars. They have great attention to detail. The tunes have always been spot on for me. I have not had my Type R tuned with them yet (I am just running the included Hondata tunes in Flashpro currently) but plan to once I have all my modifications installed...probably later this summer.

Thanks for the input! Do you know if they do Ktuner as well? I only see Hondata on their website.

You're welcome. I'm not sure. I have only been a Hondata user. I know that they do AEM as well and maybe others...that discussion never came up so I really don't know...sorry.

I'm almost positive this is just the FlashPro basic re-flash they quoted you being they are a "dealer" for Hondata, so you are getting the FlashPro base maps without buying the actual FlashPro unit itself. They will custom tune on the FlashPro as well as the KTuner unit, they quoted a friend a custom tune via KTuner. They are a very reputable shop, I had them install my FX350 clutch upgrade on my 17" Si and they did great and provided exceptional service.

I wanted to update anyone who may be curious about King Motorsports. I highly recommend them. Scott Zellner, the owner, answered all of my questions in a timely manner over email. In the end, I decided to do the simple +9 Hondata Dealer Flash tune for $350. This was an economical way to increase my car's performance without spending too much money. I know not everyone will go this route, but it works for someone who doesn't plan to do anything else performance wise to their car. Scott also discussed with me in person future goals with my car, and he gave me solid recommendations if I choose to do anything else in the future.
