I guess it's possible but I think there might be some bullshit on his part. Running the datalogs, the +6 is a very mild tune out of the box, barely peaking at 20psi. Of course he could have been launching it like an idiot.

Here is my 2 cents :

YES, get the damn parts.

I did a custom exhaust, and i got a short ram. I am now ordering PRL FRONT/DOWN pipes and getting a KTUNER tune done this month. With just a custom exhaust and a short ram, the car became completely different car. With the pipes and tune it will be amazing. The cvt lacks power mid range, and thats where the tune should be focused, also the initial lag when you hit the gas has to be adjsuted. Aside from that i think these cars have plenty of power without adding too much, and they are really smooth. I work in a car dealership and drive many cars, and can say that the cvt civic can moveeee when needed. I've raced alot of cars that on paper should obliterate the cvt civic, and have never lost. You have to have realistic expectations as well, yeah a manual may be a little better if "racing" but if you are just an enthusiast and like to mash the gas once in a blue, its still worth getting it done. It's really enjoyable and has gotten me out of trouble. So i say get the parts, enjoy it.

What do you guys think about upgrading the Intercooler on a CVT? Mishimotos intercooler is really catching my attention.

since an intercooler really isnt a power adder, more of a power keeper, you can do it. Especially if you live in a hot climate. Never a bad idea to more efficiently cool the air post turbo before it heads into the engine.

Hey. You're all talking about psi boosts and all for a tune, but what if I only have a Civic LX with cvt 2.0l? I don't have a turbo, but I want some more performance to it. Would a tune be appropriate in my case as well as some few base mods like intake/downpipe...? Thanks!

Yes get a tune, check out the thread on Ktuner tune for the 2.0, there are pretty good gains to be made with the tune. here is a link to the dyno http://ktuner.com/16civic/

I imagine just a Hondata flash will satisfy you.
only Ktuner supports the 2.0 non turbo

Thanks a lot... Yeah Ktuner already gave me the link in another thread, I just wanted to know the opinion of others whether it'd be worth it or not. I was seriously looking into buying another car, but I think I'll keep my Civic and do a few mods on it! I just hope nothing's gonna happen warranty-wise if there's a problem lol

Just flash back to stock before going back to the dealer, unlock the Ktuner from the ECU and drive for about 150 miles before going back to the dealer and they'll never know that you had flashed the ECU.

Oh shit really? Good to know! Besides that, my civic's exhaust is like... hidden? I can't even see it. Do you think it's still possible to change it? Can I get a dual exhaust or it'd be too complicated with the frame of the car? Thanks a lot!

No need to drive 150 miles, drive long enough that the sensing suite(if you have sensing) resets but it doesnt take 150 miles. Ive literally flashed stock at home and driven to the dealer 5 miles away. Once its stock its stock. It doesnt store datalogs on the ECU.

Even on a 2017? How do I know if the sensing suite resets? Is it hard to flash back to stock? Sorry I have no knowledge on this and I'm learning my way!

do you have sensing, ie lane keep, collision mitigation etc? they flash on the dash while they are resetting. if you have nothing lit up on the dash, everything is fine
