I'm 32 now which I guess is pretty young for this thread! My only hope is that by the time I'm too old to drive an Si I'll have saved up enough to buy a Type R.

People spend too much time worrying about what other people think. Do what makes you happy. You only get one life and it's too short to not live it how you want. F### what everyone else thinks. Lol

There are people over 55 driving Type Rs... there is no “age limit” for these cars. If it makes you happy then you are not too old to drive it. ;)

And failing that... who cares what other people think?

48....I've had an Si of nearly every generation since the 80's. I had a "friend" say to me recently, "why you still driving a Civic? You can do much better than that" Meaning, I have the means to buy a more "prestigious" mark (he was referring to German cars). To me, the history of Soichiro and his company out-prestiges any brand from Germany. When I'm in my 50's I'll probably own the next gen Si, Type R, or maybe another S2000-like car if Honda makes it and the kids are out of the house.

That sounds like a great plan that I could get on board with myself... Hopefully Honda is seeing enough response from a "sport" loving crowd that that idea comes to fruition.

could you imagine a s2000 like chassis with a ctr derived 300+ hp 2.0t? That would sell like hotcakes.

Hi,

Went to the dealership to buy an Si, he was trying to sell me an accord because he thought I am too old to buy an Si. What do you think, how old is too old to buy an Si?

Thanks :)
Hi. I will be 60 just 4 months down the road. I made the decision to go with Civic Si for reasons too numerous to list on this thread.

I am close to 60 and I drive a 2018 SI Coupe. My previous car was a MB CLK350 and IMO, it was a good looking mature coupe. My initial choice was a C Coupe (another looker) and I was indecisive until I tried the 6MT.

I wished the coupe would not come with the high spoiler and HDMI exhaust. After a few months of ownership, I am now used to them.
Hi. I couldn't agree more about that "rear vision" blocking spoiler. Unfortunately, as you must have deduced, there are not many choices for a coupe these days. I am coming out of 2 automatic Mustangs. I had driven manuals for 27 years, and was tired.

At 70 I'm too old for an Si, so I bought an EX-T CVT. Close enough.
Hi. I also test drove a Civic EX-T CVT. I have reservations about the current crop of automatic transmissions from various manufacturers. I feel like we are in the middle of a transmission revolution trying to get the most efficient performance out of them. I am coming out of 2 automatic Mustangs, so I really struggled with this decision. I had driven manuals for 27 years, but was tired.

pffft, gonna be 41 with 2 sports playing boys (8 and 13) carting around teammates/friends/whatever home remodeling sized things I can fit into a '17 Si coupe. Was it a bad purchase, probably, do I regret it? nope.

Did you consider the Sport hatch at any point? I'm just curious because I'm naturally drawn to the Si coupe, but the Sport hatch is so much more practical for me.

Totally, but once I saw the Si coupe I was sold. Even my wife saw it next to the sedan Si and said "if you get it, get the 2 door". Coming from a '07 Fit (greatest car ever) I definitely appreciate a hatch more, but I have her CR-V if I need to pickup anything on the larger side. Once my youngest gets older I'm sure I'll need something bigger, so I figured why not have fun now.
