No not at all. I simply didn't know what to expect with the coilover upgrade. If you talk to the HMA race team or USR, they will say this is soft compared to what they're running. They run dedicated track setups. HKS created a kit more so for entry level track use with street use in mind.sounds like RACE ONLY system...if a lot stiffer than stock with Ebiach (15% stiffer).
To me, that means un-usable for the street! My jaw and teeth will crack in a few days?
I would rate the stiffness of OEM (w/eibach spring and rear sway) - 4/10.Thanks for sharing. Couple questions;
- assuming you gained some comfort w/ smaller wheels/thicker tires @ R Mode vs stock wheel/tire; is your testing @medium settings way harsher? On a scale to 10(10 being 100% track and not very bearable on the street), how would you rate the harshness. I never been in a Focus RS, but would you say it's similar at this test setting? I'm just trying to gauge exactly how it feels for your test setup.
HKS Coilover on Medium damper setting - 6.5/10
It's got room to be stiffer when cranking up the adjustment knob.
To my understanding, "Drivable limit" is what HKS recommends your damper settings overall should be. They included height and damper stiffness to obtain the best performance of their kit.- Not understanding the "drivable limit, high/low" what's the max drop and does it come pre-set at 1.0" drop? I, personally, don't want to lower it at all. Maybe 1/2" drop if any.
So with that said, you can easily lower to 1" and be in the "preferred performance" range.
