Yeah V12s are great, I've been hearing amazing things about the new Conti Extremecontact Sports($155 for 235/40/18 tirerack) which have better wet performance than 4S's , and of course imo, the bang of the buck daily spirited tires, Firehawk Indy500's at $130 a pop with dry performance very very close to a PSS.

The only "street/track" tire I would trust as a daily is and always will be ZII star specs. Lasted sooooo much longer than I thought on my old 330i, got 2 summers out of them, lil over 20k miles.
Yep, I have star specs on my beater EG that are from the track EK. I heat cycled them out so I threw them on my beater. They still had at least 50% tread when I swapped them. They last forever for a 200tw tire. They also gave great grip and withstand heat pretty good. Never got too greasy even in 98 degree summer weather. Then one day , they stopped having that same level of grip. I kept playing with air pressure but eventually they would roll and I knew it was time for fresh rubber. They lasted about the same for every 200tw tire I have tracked, which is about 1 year. I prefer the AD08r's.

I liked Nittos as a street tire for launching, pulls and rolls. Not so good for wet roads.
I started tracking on Neo Gens. Cheap tire that gives plenty of feedback. Good for accel and decel, but not the best in the turns. They scream forever until they give up.

The OP of this discussion was delighted with the increased grip, ride comfort, and lower noise of his new Falken Azenis RT615 K+ tires when compared with the Goodyear all-seasons, but also wrote:
Clearly Honda engineers tuned this car to Goodyears. Goodyears felt crisper and more lively. Falkens feel a little dead on turn in but grip makes you over look slightly floaty feel.
I love that crisp and lively feel! I love the sharp turn-in! Will I be giving even a little of this up when I replace the Goodyears with the Pilot Sport FSs? I know the Michelins are premium summer tires, and the all-seasons are all-seasons, but is there a chance that after the changeover I will lose even a little of the crispness and sharpness that I enjoy every time I negotiate a curve with my Si?

They might need a little more or less tire pressure to get the crisp turn in. I have driven on them but not in an Si. They felt fine to me as a 200tw tire. But unless you track your car, this tire is not a daily driver. You will only get 10-12k miles out of them. That is the nature of 200tw tires. I have the eagle f1 tires that came with the car. They are pretty nice. Turn in is about as quick as an s2k. LSD works pretty good in this model.

I didnt see it anywhere in this thread, but I noticed much more tire noise with the Falkens vs the A/S Goodyears as would be expected from the summer performance tire. Something to consider though for people looking to put tires on their daily driver.

Also I went from 235/40/18 to 245/45/17 and the ride is way more plush feeling then stock. The extra sidewall really absorbs the small bumps and road imperfections well.

Love launching the car now too since it just hooks up and goes instead of spinning for a few seconds.

How high did the ECT get to? I am assuming you have a Ktuner or Hondata to datalog or view. What brake pads did you use? I want to track my Si but I haven't found decent pads yet for them. Do you think the car needs a bigger swaybar for trackday purposes? I heard the autocross guys like a bigger rear swaybar. Thanks for any info you can give me. I started a thread just for HPDE but not many people have done any in the Si yet.
I was fully stock at that moment and killed my brakes. For my last event I ordered some Raybestos ST-42s, they work great and last. As for the sway bar I haven't really felt I need it for now. It will also depend a lot of your driving style. Eventually will get the type r and check.
