I just purchased the v2 and expect it to come on Tuesday. Once I create and load a tune, do I need to keep the v2 connected at all times or can I remove it after loading my tune?

Does the screen of the v2 always need to be connected or can it just be connected when I want to view real time data or load/change tunes?

I read through the guide the other night and don’t remember reading this.

Once you upload a tune you definitely don't have to keep it plugged in. It's just personal preference.

Thank you.

I bought the v2, if I can find a good place to mount it I may keep it hooked up to see the gauges. Will have to look to see where the odb2 port is to make sure it will not be in the way.

It's by your left knee... below and to the left of the steering column.

Thanks, just got home and looked. Should be out of the way enough to not hit it using the clutch.

@KTuner

I am reading through your documentation in preparation for my ktuner arrival this week.

In this section from your website for 2016+ Civic it says there are currently 3 research calibrations with more to come and then says both can be used with 87 octane. Does that mean all 3 or 2 of the 3?

Also, stage zero only says CVT, is this locked out for a MT car?

Lastly, in the stage 2 dual tune, it says stock boost with the eco button on, 21 psi with eco button off. In this tune with eco button on, does it run like the stock tuned car does with eco on or like the stock tuned car with eco off?

Thanks
Ray

Changed to Stage 0 and Stage 1.

They will run on 87, but obviously with it pulling timing will not run optimally. Suggested octane is listed for each.

Staged tunes say CVT/MT next to them.

It targets factory targets with ECO on. With limitations lifted it will never run as droll as factory does again.

Thanks for the change!

Is stage zero really CVT only?

Thanks @KTuner

I see the boost tables in the help file. Is there an easy way to just say set boost target to 16, 18 or a specific value without updating that whole boost matrix manually? Like say I plug in 18 boost target somewhere and it updates the rest of the table?

We'll be adding the same easy quick adjustments for boost levels to non-Si that we just released for Si. That should do the trick!
Nice - thanks!!

@KTuner I wanted to thank you for you patience with all of my questions!

One more for now :)

I plan on playing around with the software before I load any tunes. Would I still be able to use the v2 as a gauge and data logger without loading any actual tunes on my car until I am more comfortable with the software?

No problem.

Yes, you don't have to flash the vehicle if you don't want to.
