Looks good! Any tips for installation? About to get mine this weekend.
Don't do it yourself and let the guy at the shop do it using the template found in this forum. The drilling into the hatch is the most difficult part apparently.

mine just get installed. it was DIY. at first I was try using the templates, but it was accidently resized when printed.
so I draw them my self directly to the hatch.
1. cover the hatch with tape
2. place the wing to the hatch, verify carefully that they sit perfectly, second opinion may needed. than draw the template
3. measure to point the place of the screws hole.to find the exact place at first I’m using inner side of the wing foot as the guide.
it was the hardest and tricky step.
you need to verify measurement from any angle. mine the right and left slightly different, so it measured each side.
4. after get the drilling point, start drilling with small drill bit.then verify the hole match the wing. if it looks good start to drill the bigger hole. I’m using steped drill bit ended at 7mm.
if you open the inner plastic panel on the hatch, you’ll find metal plate with 2 holes for holding the screws.
if your drilling corret, the hole you’ve made upright the hole of the plates.I know it letter after drilling. but i was lucky its on the right place.and I suggest you to verify it first before drilling.
5. install the wing on the hatch.using the longest screws include on the set. the screws hold by the plates, not directly to the hatch panel, another guy suggest to use 1” spacer to hold thescrews between the plates and outer hatch panel and to avoid over tighten the screws that will pulldown the outer hatch panel.

I’m using rubber gap filler each part before attaching them each other to avoid noise at high speed.

I hope it will help

thanks for the detailed guide! Can you share some pics especially for pt #3-5? Would like to know how is the end result with the metal plate and spacer. My spoiler from ABS Dynamics will arrive in 7 days.

sory I didnt make documentation , here is I found in youtube:

to open the hatch inner cover.
you need to make attention to those 2 holes on the plate marked in the pict.
you should made holes upright those holes. so they’re aligned
and there is space between the holes on plates and the holes you’ve drilled.
you need to use the longest screws and washers to hold the wing on the hatch.the head screws and washers sit on the plates, not directly bolt on the hole you’ve made.
because of its hollow space, when the screws tighten, they’ll never stops.unless you use spacer to prevent overtighten that pulled down your outer hatch panel.

maybe you can replace long bolt screws with philips head screws with appeopriate size and lenght to direct bolt on the outer hatch panel, you can use screwdriver to tighten the screws through the hole plates.
but I dont know its effects.
I choose to follow its design.
just open the hatch cover first.see what Im talking about

Finally installed mine today. Big thanks to manny for his template. Made it so much easier.

Install was pretty straight forward. I did also use 3m molding tape on every single attachment piece. I notice after a test fit with no 3m tape the spoiler would wiggle even though it was very tightly screwed down. Also the screws included for the spoiler attachment was short and would strip the screw hole. Had to get longer screws for better mounting. The 3m molding tape fixed the issue of the wiggle and made the spoiler sit very solid to the car. Most stock spoilers will attach with 3m molding tape and screws. Thanks again all for information on your installs!

Hey, I was wondering what you meant by "strip" the screw hole? Did you mean the female part would pop out? [see attached] I had that issue on one of the screw holes pop out, my fault for over-tightening it combined with the blue loctite I added. Trying to figure out a way to secure it as it would pop back in when tightened gently (it popped out initially when I was loosening it when taking the wing off) and hesitant if it'll pop out while driving. I ended up getting another set to be safe as well as longer screws while being more careful this time around...The 3m tape was one of the ideas I had of getting everything to stick definitely going to pick some up tomorrow.

So due to the fact the screws were short. It was only grabbing the ends of the threads on the female side maybe about 3 rings on the end. If you tighten it hard it will strip the threads on the female end. Getting a longer screw made it catch all the threads thus letting you tighten as needed. Mine did not pop out like yours above though.

Also wanted to mention use one strip of 3m molding tape and tape it around the edge of each piece it will also create a seal from water. I did also use rubber washers on the screws attaching to the Hatch and spoiler legs where I drilled as a second precaution to be 100% sure no water will get in. I did not use the outer portion of the hatch hole to screw in. If I did this the rubber seals will not seal the holes I created when drilling. I screwed in directly to the hatch where I drilled the holes to screw on the spoiler. It was a pain but I used a claw gripper and angled it into the hatch. As for the middle black wing itself use only 3m on the upper portion as it is the only surface area that will be touching the sides. The lower portion use foam seal like in manny’s video as the gap between the sides and the wing are larger.

Last pointer. Take your time do it right the first time or you will spend more time taking it apart and fixing your mistakes.

If you bring in the spoiler to install I can see why some may get huge vibration and sounds. Without the 3m tape it will only rely on the screws for support. Some installers will more than likely only install the wing with the hardware you give them. Keep in mind after market pieces tends to not provide you everything for install.

Yeah they’re definitely an acquired taste looks wise but they help a ton with stabilizing the wing and there’s essentially zero flex or bouncing at high speeds so it ended up being worth it for me.
Hi there. I just got mine professionally installed today. I put the wing together and had someone do the drilling and putting it on the car. When I drove it home, I noticed the middle of the wing is shaky and flexing. Even at low speeds. I checked it when the car is stopped and it is solid. I bought the same one and have a coupe so just wanted to see if you had the same issue and is that the reason you got the stabilizing bars? I like the bars but I want to make sure it will fix the issue.

Thanks!!!

you purchased the spoiler from ABS Dynamics? that spoiler is specifically made for 5-dr hatchback, installing the same spoiler on a coupe might disrupt the airflow and aerodynamics due to change in angle of attack?
