I am probably going to go with PS4S when the time comes, and will get the 255/30/20
The Type R has great steering and handling characteristics and I feel that if I go with higher tires I will impact that great "on rails" feeling.
The 255 tire will add some height over the 245 anyways.
Good luck with your decision! :)
Wait. How would that affect height? I thought it'd only affect width.

255 is the tread width, 30 is the percentage of the width the sidewall is tall. Increasing width, increases height if the aspect ratio is the same (30).

The 30 here is less than the stock 35, so my guess is that a 255/30 would be shorter than a 245/35.

EDIT

I was corrected below ... the stock tire is a 30 not a 35, so the 255/30 would be taller than stock.

Ah yes now that I look at it like that I see your point. I don't guess there's an easy way to recalibrate the speedo?

The stock tires are 30 not 35. So a 255/30/20 will be taller than 245/30/20

I stand corrected, I don't know why I thought they were 35's. Just typing fast from the top of my head I guess.

Thanks for straightening that out, hopefully I'll remember that better in the future.

The difference at 90 is .7 mph, there's no need to attempt to re-calibrate for that unless you have OCD tendencies.

Anyone know if a dealer would install 245/35/ZR20 tires on the OEM wheels? I definitely want to switch to the Michelin’s but I also want more sidewall. I wish the OEM rims were available in 19 inches, as I cannot find a set of 19s that I like a lot without breaking the bank.

First thing I did when I got my CTR home was change to 255/35/20 as I live in the Rockies and our roads are not the greatest and I need all season tires incase I ever to decide or get caught in a snow storm. I like the stock rims and didn’t want to change them. I drove 1300 on stock tires and now have 3500 total miles with the bigger tires. The car rides and handles 100% better in my opinion. Also fills the wheel wells a little better and I’ve had no rubbing whatsoever since I went to these tires

JL FREED HONDA in North Wales Pa. 13 miles north of Philly mounted balanced 255/35/20 GMax tires on my OEM wheels.

I can say he is right on with his assessment of the 255/35/20's . I personally think the steering isn't as sharp due to the thicker tire but ride comfort and absorption of force and pounding from potholes and dips in the road makes the ride more comfortable and gives the aids the suspension

That’s good to know - did they warn you of any potential risks beforehand?
