I'm guessing you have to remove the boot flip it inside out cut off whatevers holding the oem ring then put the new collar and put that elastic band over it to secure it and put it back on and tighten the bolts for the level?Here is a pic, not super close up tho
Yup, cut off the zip tie and then install the new one using the little rubber band they give you. The sucky part is tighting the hex key bolts with a little allen key. Gotta do them evenly so it is centered correctly, my old know let you see the J's racing logo more but I still love it.
Looks great! So what do you remove first, to remove the shift boot leather? I've pressed and prodded the exterior casing but cant manage removal. Sorry man, forgot about this thread. Hope you got it, if not you pull the plastics on the sides of the radio up so you can unscrew the center console piece with the sport, brake and brake hold buttons. You can then pop this off, unclip the buttons and work on removing the stock collar to install the new one. After that you put it back and adjust it till you're happy with it.
