As far as the shift boot goes, has anyone gone aftermarket for our cars? If not can you buy the red stitched boot from the Si? What would be the part number?

You want anything that is a 10x1.5 pitch thread....

The style is up to you.
What if the thread says m10 is that same as 10x1.25 or 10x1.5

Just exchange mine with a 2015 Si style... feels much better that the original! left the original boot and ring connector, now I need to figure out how to connect these two... hehe

I've seen an si style on ebay, do you still have yours on? How does it hold up in The heat/cold? Thanks!

Hello, I swapped for a Mugen Carbon Fiber, the Si's replica was damn hot when back to car. The Mugen sits lower and does not burn anymore!

Why did u use that piece below it?
I think you're referring to the shift boot retainer. It keeps the shift boot up. When you remove the stock knob, you won't have anywhere to clip the original collar back up to the new knob. You can find the retainer on Amazon for cheap.

lots of choices on ebay and if you do some research on either Honda/Acura models and find one you like..
I have one off a 05 Acura right now but I'm thinking of going with the 06 SI knob now..

Does anyone know the dimensions of the stock 2018 Type R shift knob? Diameter, height, etc?

Do you need to buy a new boot retainer to use the shift knob?

Hey sorry, missed your post. Some people seem to say you don't need one, but when I put my new knob on, the shift boot collar wouldn't have held itself up to the knob, so the shift boot would fall down and you'd see the shaft of the shifter. My guess is the answer varies based on which knob you bought. It's not like it's expensive or a work intensive mod though, so if you're on the fence, don't buy one, and if you need one later, it's cheap and easy to fix.
