Hey guys, first of all, I just purchased an SI coupe in black (pics below) a few weeks ago and I'm new to the forum. So far, I love the car. As most of you already know, the handling is fantastic, and the shifter/gearbox is quite the slick unit. I downsized from a Ridgeline since we also recently purchased a CX9. Loved the Ridgeline, but I have access to many pickups from family members and I really wanted to get back into a sporty, manual car, having previously owned a 2014 Acura ILX Dynamic. I love everything about the SI, but being close to my mid 30's, I'd like a more toned down spoiler. Has anyone swapped out their SI coupe spoiler for the non SI one? If not, does anyone know if they are easily interchangeable? I know all about the downforce and performance aspect of the current spoiler, but this car will never see a track. At most, it will be put through the odd stint of spirited driving on a mountain or back country road. Thanks!

Welcome to the forums and congrats on the purchase! As far as the spoiler on the Si coupe, I'm pretty sure it's 100% cosmetic and has zero aerodynamic benefits - someone can correct me if I'm wrong of course. As far as swapping, as long as the bolt holes match up, it should be a non-issue. Unfortunately you'd have to find something that matches or you'll have some ugly holes in your trunk. I thought I read the sedan Si spoiler - and maybe even the non-Si couple spoiler - are attached via adhesive and not bolts (again someone can correct me if I'm wrong) - so again you'd be dealing with the holes in the trunk.

Enjoy your Si coupe; I'm certainly enjoying mine!

Thanks for your input. I think if the spoiler does have any real aerodynamic benefits, it would be at pretty high speeds. I'm trying to get an answer from my Honda dealership on swapping out the spoiler with the non SI one and what the process would involve, but haven't heard back from them yet. As far as enjoying the car, I look forward to jumping in it every single day and make every possible excuse to have somewhere to go lol. These new SI's are really infringing on pure sports car territory. I've got the upgraded tires and I'm in awe of the car's chassis and handling performance for a FWD. That, and the velvety smooth shifter really make it a treat to drive.

Congrats on the purchase. I have the exact same model. Honestly the spoiler has grown on me. I had the same thoughts as you did, switching to the non-Si coupe spoiler as it still looks pretty cool but is toned down. I doubt that the holes line up the same with both spoilers though, so you would need to either swap trunks or take the spoiler off and cover the holes somehow.

I'm a tick away from 40 and I have the coupe si and at first I didn't really like it but I've grown accustomed to it and it's always cheaper to leave it alone

Don't let age deter you from enjoying what you like/love. I'm 43 and the wing doesn't bother me. I don't let others opinion dictate my decisions in life. Just don't wear jeggings/skinny jeans and you're good.

Welcome to the club... Just a thought, maybe the sedan's spoiler ( not as pronounced ) be the best fit. It's a guess from my part though.

I wish your car were Modern Steel, I am looking for an SI style spoiler and could swap trunk lids with you.
