I know Lane Watch is not universally loved, but I kind of miss it, coming from a 2015 Si especially because visibility between the B-pillar and C-pillar is quite horrible in a CTR (as compared to my prior vehicles). I realize that Lane Watch is available in FK8's sold in Canada. Is it possible to add the feature if we buy parts (mirror assembly, camera, harness, etc.) from our neighbors up north, and plug it into the headunit (plug-and-play?)?

Is anyone aware of someone actually doing this? Am I nuts?

It is indeed possible but I don't have any steps or pictures.

On where I am, Civics don't have Sensing and the lane watch. However, someone retrofitted it, seems like an easy thing to do if you have the right parts. Not sure about the setting in the infotainment though, it might just magically pop-up if you connect one :D

I believe I saw something on the developer side once unlocked about “lane watch”. I’ll look at the infotainment again tomorrow to confirm if I can find where I saw that

I would be in for this as well. Agreed that the blind spot visibility is awful in the CTR.

If I recall, Brian Loughman/ FB owners page and a member here, was trying to make it a realistic option. Not sure what happen with his journey.

Still working on it.
I am actually pursuing the BSM over the lanewatch at this point. I'm not sure yet if the camera piece would be compatible with the power fold mirror hardware.

Lane watch is not offered on CTRs sold in Canada. I wish it was, though.

Lane Watch is standard in Canada. Are you sure yours doesn't have that function?

My apologies. I thought that by lane watch you meant the system which alerts you if you are straying out of your lane. Yes, we have the camera on the passenger side mirror.

C'mon, someone filthy rich (say, for example, a venture capitalist), please try the LaneWatch DIY retrofit! I want it! :)

Just get yourself a set of convex round mirrors and the problem is solved.

Please show me a combination of a sideview mirror and convex round mirror that would give you this type of field of vision (see picture below) -- literally no blind spot and you can see 2~3 lanes away and 50 yards behind with absolute ease (which is important when you are driving in a city environment where crazy drivers drive at insane speeds and cut across multiple lanes at once; ditto for bicyclists and motorcyclists that blow by you on the passenger side when you are stopped or slowed).

No one is saying anyone absolutely needs a Lane Watch. It's a nice feature to have. You know, like a vehicle with an internal combustion engine vis-a-vis a horse and buggy.
