I asked for black lugs and received black lugs which was nice. Rims came without a nick anywhere and Iam OCD like the rest of us.
Hub centric rim needed or no ? Thanks .

Not 100% sure.... Tire rack said no rings needed for Motegi wheels and when contemplating NSX wheels I was told no rings needed either but sounds like they are needed with NSX rims.

What do you guys think about getting these wheels for winter tires? Too much?

These wheels definitely look like they will be my choice.

@hondatech nate can you shed some light as to how you know this wheel was made specific for the CTR? Not doubting, just curious. I couldn’t find them anywhere except for Tire Rack. I plan on mounting some A/S potenzas on them.

Cause we were in talks with tire rack for about 6-8 months trying to get ahold of rims. They said they contracted these out specifically for the ctr for autocross.

Will they be making them in black?

Depends on your winter conditions, how (sideways) you drive, etc. I used 19x8.5ET60 FK2 wheels with 255/35x19 Hakka R2's and I found that was pretty much the ideal setup for Ottawa. I tried my 18x9ET45 wheels for one early-season storm - and sh*t myself at how the car would spit me between lanes when driving in double-track conditions or deep standing water (on one side of the car) at freeway speeds. These Motegi's are 19x8.5ET53 because that gives the widest allowable track for D/Street. The ET53 offset has half the increase in scrub radius that ET45 wheels would, so one might expect handling in conditions that promote "wheel fight" to be halfway between the two ... all other things being equal.

Mike Kojima explains this better than I ever could:
Increasing the scrub radius too much can cause wheel fight and twichyness under braking, especially on split friction surfaces and more sensitivity to bump steer. An extreme amount of scrub will result in an overall loss of traction as turning the wheel will add a sideways sliding component to steering which will reduce traction.

It’s best to try and not deviate too much from the amount of scrub engineered into the car from the factory. To minimize the change in scrub radius it’s important to try to increase wheel width to the inside of the car as well as the outside by closely paying attention to the wheel offset, thus going wider while keeping the scrub radius the same. ...

How would the OEM wheels handle snow tires? I’m in Vancouver, so not a lot of snow, more ice and wet issues in winter, and maybe 10-14 days a year with snow covered roads

So I should try to get a rim as close to the 60 offset as possible?

Fine. If it were me, then I would go up to a 35 series to get a bit more sidewall flex for better wet performance. Lots more choice in 245/35x20 as well.

Yes; given all other things being equal, e.g., 8.5" wide rims.

If I go up to 35 is that going to screw up my speedometer/odometer?

When the speedometer reads 60mph (96.6km/h), the actual speed will be 62.2mph (100.1km/h): 3.7% faster. The sidewalls are a half-inch taller (and thus the car will sit a half-inch higher). You have to go to 19" wheels to get the half-inch taller sidewall with minimal error (245/35x19 = 0.2% slower readings than 245/30x20)

These are going to be the best wheels in terms of price/sizing, even if you're not going to autocross the CTR.
