Hey guys,

Check out the videos of my install of the
@ACUITY Performance Centering Spring

and
Acuity Performance Base Bushing installs

Amazing upgrades for the price. Love them. If you guys have any questions, let me know
Holy Mother of trim pieces! Great camera work by the way.

What is the point of this mod? Does it feel better or does it actually have a performance enhancement to it?

Do the Acuity bushings remove the "looseness" of the shifter while in gear? it's not like it's popping out of gear or anything, but even when in gear, the shifter is able to wiggle back and forth way more than any other car I've ever had. This is particularly true in 2nd, and makes my 1st to 2nd shifts imprecise and often "crunchy".

The base bushings do remove quite a bit of looseness. I hesitate to say how much because I also have the shifter cable bushings installed - but of the two, I would say that the base bushings have the most impact - at least on my Type R. IIRC, Russ @ACUITY told me that the shifter base bushings and the shifter cable bushings are the same between the Si and the Type R.

However, I would say that the base bushings' impact on "wiggle back and forth" depends on what you are talking about. To clarify - on a light "wiggle" like moving the knob with your fingertips - minimal impact, maybe even no impact; but on a hard wiggle when you are moving the entire shifter assemble, a.k.a. sponginess - large impact.

As for the 1-2 shift - it is a straight shift so the shifter base bushings shouldn't affect crunchiness - they would only affect feel at the transition point between 1 and 2 and the landing in 2nd - reducing sponginess at both points. I would say crunchiness is a transmission syncro or fluid level issue or a clutch release/clutch delay valve issue.

god damn that is a lot of work for just base bushings. The X center console is way too laborious to take apart. My 7thgen had like 4-6 screws and took all of 2 min.

It's good to do a few mods at once when you're taking off the center console. Our centering spring is also a good mod when you're installing the base bushings. We'll have some other mods for the OEM shifter soon too. It doesn't take as long as the install videos make it seem if you're proficient at taking interior panels out. I did the full install in 30 minutes the other day for some other prototype parts in the same area. :)

Throw us a bone here @ACUITY :bat:... I would have to guess that one of the items is a short shift adaptor for the OEM shifter and the other item I have no clue what it might beo_O:dunno::hmm:

Got the acuity cable bushings on my car, and yes it has eliminated the wobbly shifter feel. Plus, gear are lot more direct and easy to transition into :)

Wondering the same. I'd like to do everything while I have console torn down. Short shifter adapter(Full shifter if cheap enough,) all bushings, rocker, spring, etc....

Really like your stuff!

Tune & Shifter mods I think are where I want to start. Pretty happy with everything else currently!

Agreed. This is exactly why I've been stacking all my acuity parts aside till I have them all. I made the mistake of putting there boot adapter on first to see how it all came apart then felt like I should of gave myself more time to just put everything on at once. Hell, I could blow on my 9th gen and the center console would come apart lol.
