The salesperson kept trying to swipe it to show me how it worked which, on a 2018 doesn't apparently.

An more elegant solution would have make it an option to turn off the slide feature. Removing the functionality altogether with the hardware still capable is asinine.
Or, at least Honda could've briefed their salespeople about the changes for 2018.

...yeah, well, I wasn't impressed with the 3 or 4 salesmen I interacted with over the course of getting my car. One didn't recognize transmission issues one of the SIs had. None knew much about the cars or it's capabilities. I've had some insightful conversations with mechanics at Honda however, who know their products and are actually forthcoming about some missteps and common issues found which is great information. The salesmen just spout whatever BS necessary to make a sale.

They should use mechanics for test drives and salesmen to just talk numbers and do paperwork, at least for car lovers. I don't need someone to give me a verbal massage during a test drive. Good cars sell themselves.

I just picked up my 2018 Si after coming out of a 2017 sedan touring and i must say, I’m a little disappointed that the slide function for the steering wheel volume control is gone. I just spent a year enjoying that function. THey could have at least put it in the settings as an option, No?

'18 CR-V has the slider and I've probably hit the damn thing 8 times accidentally in the last six weeks. I prefer it the way it is in the '17 Si.

They havent even been briefed on the 2017 models yet apparently. I had to tell them several times about how my car is supposed to do certain things and actually pull the manual out and show them :(

I have it on my 2016 and love the feature. I think it's really slick and one of the things I can impress my friends with. I must say that, since I'm used to it, I never hit it by accident. It's unfortunate that Honda took it out of the newer versions.

I agree, Honda should keep it but I won't pay for a switch unit
