Si driver probably would have won by two car lengths if it wasn't for all the drag those fins create. :D

I just realized he had to drill into his bumper for those So even if he took them off it would leave holes

Seen some of his vids before and thought they were okay, but this is a pretty unfortunate turn for the car. The real travesty is that they sell this stuff to people in the first place...o_O

Elantra sport seems like a pretty good daily if you keep it stock, but i dont know if the aftermarket support is quite the same.

I was originally supposed to get an Elantra Sport, but last minute test drove an Si and bought it :)

Made a few friends in the ES community when I was doing my research, and one night I decided to meet up with 3 of them on my trip to Mexico. Stock for stock I pulled 1.5 car lengths on my friend with a 6MT Elantra Sport, 0.75 car length on the stock DCT Elantra Sport, and the third was a flash tuned Elantra Sport which put 1 car length on me. The Elantra Sport in stock form has a stronger bottom end but the Si reels them in at the top. We did multiple runs to confirm that we all agreed on the outcomes. All runs done from a 15mph roll in 1st gear

This past Friday, we did a rematch. The then stock DCT Elantra Sport now has a tune, 3" downpipe and 3" exhaust, intake, and upgraded intercooler piping. I have the Hondata +9 and a Mishimoto Intake... The outcome was neck and neck even though he was running more power than I am. We're contributing that to the lighter weight of the Si plus the 17" RPF1's that weigh 16.1 lbs, helping reduce the rotating mass of inertia and giving me better acceleration. Both races were from a 25 roll and 30 roll in 2nd gear.

That I've gotten over it as I only use the steering wheel controls. Speaking of which, my roommate yesterday while sitting shotgun did this DJ-style swipe up before the beat dropped and he raised the volume a few extra levels and that was the coolest thing which we both said "AYYYY" to as the beat drop was timed perfectly... so can I say the swipe finally won?

The Elantra Sport I will is GORGEOUS from all angles, and the exhaust sounds way better the Si will ever sound so there's that..

I originally wanted a DCT Elantra Sport but at the time I couldn't track down the color and option package I wanted. It's actually a very nice car. I love the wheels and the exhaust note and the fact I could get a DCT. Hyundai has really upped their game. The Si is a terrific car with better handling. As far as speed... on the street, they're neck and neck.

My girlfriend wants a sporty automatic car... We looked at the elantra sport but she does not like leather seats. And Hyundai leather is not know to wear well. Looking into an ex-t coupe now.

You're welcome! I should also mention for comparison that I put 1.5 lengths on a stock 2018 WRX from a 25 roll, with just the Hondata +9. I'd be interesting to see if I can hang with a stock STI - wouldn't say neck to neck, but I doubt one would take an easy win.

Looks like theyve got you cornered there, where you able to get away? :D
LSD meant I could floor it, and not one-wheel peel out!
