I'm interested in which intercooler type r owners bought and why? Or plan to buy and why.

I've read many of the threads and I believe the PRL will meet my needs.

I believe the PRL weighs approx. 16-17 Pounds and the Mishimoto will weigh significantly more. Which is factoring into my decision. They both will far exceed my power goals, so that's not an issue.

I'm interested in hearing owners experiences and thoughts on the subject. Thanks in advance.

I havenā€™t had experience with any other intercooler, but the PRL fit and finish is exceptional and so far Iā€™ve had no overheating issues. Iā€™m curious to see how the others that have not dropped compare.

PRL has been excellent. Great fit & finish. Straight forward installation and good support. I've also been watching IAT temps 1 and 2 and it works very well. Totally gets rid of heat soak lethargy.

There are a lot of brands that don't have their innercoler on the market yet.

I don't think the Mishimoto one is out yet. I assume other companies are still in the works.

If you want the best period you'll have to wait. If you want the best right now the general consensus is PRL.

Which intercooler did I buy? PRL

Why? The fit and finish. If you buy the PRL product youā€™ll hopefully realize the end tanks are gorgeous pieces, IMO. It fit perfectly with no issues.

Although the rubber air diverter pieces that fit around the end tanks needed slight trimming to get the ā€œfinishā€ just right, it wasnā€™t a huge issue, and you could very well not trim the pieces and be perfectly fine.

The Mishimoto looks like its going to be bigger than the PRL. Of course that also means more weight and pressure drop. Will be interesting to see how they compare.
