Got my answer this morning. We ran the car on a rack at a Honda dealer where my buddy is a service advisor. Sound comes from inside of the wastegate (confirmed with the stethoscope). According to their Master Tech all Honda Turbos sound like that....or in his exact words they sound like shit..
You had it on the rack with the wheels moving? I still find it weird the sound goes away if you press the clutch in while coasting.

So if we buy an aftermarket wastegate we should be good?

yep i am not surprised.. i pointed it out in the pic i posted.. its the wastegate bar that is rattling.
No, it't not the bar/lever! It's the wastegate actuator actually.

Not sure how that actuator is making a metallic sound but this guy tested it with a stethoscope and I was standing right next to him and the sound was clearny coming from the actuator... this is beyond weird though.

Then we don't have the same issue. When I get time I am taking mine in. Been busy and hope it will be soon.

Here are my symptoms:
-Noise only occurs when coasting.
-Goes away when pressing the accelerator
-Goes away when you press the clutch in

It's your wastegate actuator then. I have exact same symptoms.

Yes, we had the car on a rack with the wheels running.
The sound was coming straight from the wastegate actuator and the Honda Tech thinks what we’re hearing is the bracket but on the inside of the actuator and it goes away when it gets hot because it starts to expand.

Yes, 2017 and 2018.
I'm currently dealing with the dealer to see if I can have a new turbo setup installed..

They are trying to tell me that this is normal.

If it was nornal then everyone would hear the same saound!

I have two noises....

1# - 6th gear about 120kmh / 80mph... You give just about the same throttle as the speed. Not even accelerate. You will then hear a high pitch sound from the gearbox that follows the RPM. It's most noticeable between 100 and 130km/h on my car.
2# - A rattlesound from the enginebay. the sound reminds me of worn bearings, but it's not related to RPM.

So I just got off the phone with Honda. The company, not the dealership. They were addressing my concern when I submitted a ticket, which I mentioned here earlier. They said that they have confirmed that it is the calipers, and the noise is completely normal. I do not have a way to test this out myself, but this answer not only came from the field tech at my dealership, but Honda as well. I'm not saying here whether they are right or wrong.

If you are referring to the noise in this thread then it's not the calipers!!
I confirmed it with a stethoscope while the car was running on a lift. It's your wastegate actuator! I'm currently working with Honda to have the issue resolved. So far they are not easy to work with! I'm starting to feel that I bought the wrong car as Honda is not doing much to help..... :/
