For comparison sake Subaru sells between 24k & 30k WRX/STI’s annually just in the US alone.Currently i think there are like 16,000 or so made. This is worldwide so yes they are still hard to come by.
Haven't seen one other than mine in Richmond / Midlothian, VASeen 4 total
Wait. He has a Type R? Yours is a EX? That's why yours is 21k?I've seen a few in my area. Guy who owns a black one I see all over the place, pool hall bar I frequent, and turns out he works at the local NTB - uhh, what? He took my mount and balance order for my EX. His is an '18, number 1700 something. Already has 16,000 miles on it. He asks, "Why didn't you buy the $45,000 one? What did you pay for yours?" $21k. "Oh."
I have one in PMM. I thought I've been seeing a black one here in Huntsville, AL off and on but it's always been from afar. Well, I finally saw it the other day in my rear view mirror approaching from the rear. Something didn't look quite right to me. Right when it was about to pass I noticed it didn't have the hood scoop. Once it passed me I saw it was a Civic Sport. It had some kinda Type R'ish aero kit including the big wing. It also had red H badges on the front and rear. No hood scoop and no wheels/brakes. I was disappointed. I was hoping to actually see one other than mine driving around.I haven’t seen one driving or parked anywhere since it came out. I think the other day I saw a FakeR - it was a Civic Hatch with the Type R wing but I didn’t see any red badges nor did I see the aero in the front that would make me think it was legit. (If you were driving on route 206 NJ on Monday morning through Hillsborough and you saw a white Type R drive by you on the other side let me know )
Meanwhile, my friends have sent me multiple photos of Type Rs they have seen in the wild. I’ve seen Lamborghinis, Nissan GTRs, McLarens, Ferraris, Audi R8s, Acura NSXes and a freaking Toyota Supra RZ and not a single Type R. Talk about lame!
If you see a CW one out and about then it's probably meI have one in PMM. I thought I've been seeing a black one here in Huntsville, AL off and on but it's always been from afar. You don't happen to be an engineer or computer programmer? I used to live at Providence years ago.If you see a CW one out and about then it's probably me
Seen another CW parked at Providence but that's it.
I figured you were a government employee working on the arsenal. I see now that you just recently bought one. Where'd you get yours?Nah, just another .gov employee working on the Arsenal.
I don’t spend much time in AA. Im a little more east and see mostly chargers/challengers out here. It’s as if they are breeding. You’re not looking hard enough, I saw 3 in one day in Ann Arbor Mi area. I think I see them all the time but they are usually hatched or Si’s etc.
The only way I can tell is the giant wing on the back.
That's where my folks have bought all their cars for over the last 20 years. I looked to them first last year and they had sold theirs. They then led me to Jerry Damson in Huntsville. I got lucky. 15 minutes of phone calls and I had my Type R. The dealership was one block from where I work.Honda of Decatur
Correct. The wait list for Type R's anywhere near me are 30+ deep...Wait. He has a Type R? Yours is a EX? That's why yours is 21k?
