So I have started mailing up my car now that the roads are cleared and mostly gravel free and i’ve Begun noticing that I am getting the occasional 4th gear lockout where it won’t go into 4th from 5th on downshifts. Rev matching is on and i could be traveling slow or fast. What gives here?

My car has less than 3000kms on the odometer and up until just last week the car was driving perfectly.

Subject has likely been beaten to death but will if I switch to amsoil will this help cure this issue?

I am not going to argue with dealership about the occasional lockout because it isn’t consistently reproduceable.

Same problem here, and having Amsoil will NOT solve the problem as I've been running it for almost 5k miles (almost 10k miles on the car, changed oil and MTF at 5k).

Ah crap. That blows. Honda is known for making awesome gear boxes how could they have potentially messed this one up? It isn’t bad enough for me to trust my car with the dealership and I am hoping that what I am experiencing is an isolated problem.

Can you upload a video of the 4th gear lockout? I’m curious myself

You are NOT having an isolated problem. I have them too plus the ever so occasional gear grind from 1st to 2nd.

Yeah definitely not an isolated problem. I have gotten the 4th gear lockout maybe 3 or 4 times in 35oo miles. The 1st to 2nd grind more than that. I have seen reports of these issues quite a bit, so hopefully they will get acknowledged sooner rather than later.

Have you tried turning off the rev match feature? I had been constantly getting a 3rd gear lockout almost every time I would drive faster while shifting. One of my family members had asked me if the car had rev match and if so that it could be creating the issue. I have been driving the r a few weeks now with it off and have not had anymore lockout issues. TBH I have never driven the car with rev match off since I have owned it and I feel like it drives better without it. Give it a try and see if it helps...
